Anniversary of the JUPRECU

“PRAY WITH FAITH AND COURAGE”

Acts 4:23-31

On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.

Peter and John had been threatened and  persecuted for preaching about Jesus. They returned to their own people and, together, raised their voices to God in prayer. They did not ask for their difficulties to be removed. They did not seek vengeance against their enemies; rather, they asked for the courage to continue proclaiming the Word of God with complete confidence, while asking him to stretch out his hand to perform signs. What a powerful lesson for each one of us!

The community, united in prayer, does not remain paralyzed by fear. Instead, it recognizes that God is sovereign, and that nothing and no one lies outside of his control. And then, something wonderful happens: when they finish praying, the place where they were gathered shakes, they are all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they continue to peak the Word of God with boldness.

That is the hope we need today: not that our problems will vanish, but that the Spirit of God will fill us with his strength, with a courage that defies fear, and a confidence that affirms a God who is at work in the midst of threats.

Today, we must stand together in prayer with faith and courage!

Prayer: Sovereign God, Creator of heaven and earth, thank you for hearing the prayer of Peter and John when they were threatened. Today, we acknowledge that you continue to hear us. Stretch out your hand so that healings and signs may be performed in the midst of your people. Enable your church to give voice to your word, a Word that brings life and builds up. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Aniversario de la JUPRECU

“ORAR CON FE Y VALENTÍA”

Hechos 4:23-31

“En cuanto Pedro y Juan fueron puestos en libertad, se reunieron con los otros apóstoles y les contaron lo que habían dicho los de la Junta Suprema. Luego de escucharlos, todos juntos oraron (…)”

Hechos 4:23-24

Pedro y Juan habían sido amenazados y perseguidos por predicar sobre Jesús. Regresan a los suyos y juntos levantan la voz a Dios en oración. No piden que les quiten las dificultades, no piden venganza contra sus enemigos, sino que piden valentía para seguir proclamando la palabra de Dios con toda confianza, mientras extienden la mano para que Él haga señales. ¡Qué lección tan poderosa para cada uno de nosotros!

La comunidad unida en oración no se queda paralizada por el miedo, sino que reconoce que Dios es el Soberano, y que nada ni nadie está fuera de su control. Y entonces sucede algo maravilloso: al terminar de orar, el lugar donde estaban congregados tiembla, todos son llenos del Espíritu Santo, y siguen hablando la palabra de Dios con valentía. Esa es la esperanza que necesitamos hoy: no que desaparezcan los problemas, sino que el Espíritu de Dios nos llene de sus fuerzas; de una valentía que desafíe el miedo y de una confianza que reafirme un Dios que obra en medio de las amenazas.

¡Hoy debemos permanecer juntos en oración; con fe y valentía!

Oración: Dios Soberano, Creador del cielo y la tierra, gracias por escuchar la oración de Pedro y Juan cuando fueron amenazados, y hoy reconocemos que continúas escuchándonos. Extiende tu mano para que se hagan sanidades y señales en medio de tu pueblo. Permite que tu Iglesia de voz a tu Palabra, que es vida y edifica. En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
