Reformation Day: 509th Anniversary

A TABLE WHERE ALL ARE WELCOME

LUKE 14:7-11

“…the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place”.

Luke 14:9 (NIV)

Jesus finds himself at a table marked by competition and power struggles, by the need to prove one’s worth to others. This teaching invites us to let humility be our measure, knowing that in the Kingdom of God, honor is something no one can take away; it is something that is received.

Today we celebrate Reformation Day, and with it we remember that our hope rests in Christ alone. We are accepted by faith alone, according to the Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone. No one deserves a place before God because of their prestige, power, or possessions. For it is precisely that grace that also frees us from believing that some people are worth more than others.

In our communities, this good news calls us to make room, to share our table and to seat those who are often left on the margins in “places of special honor.” Christian humility demands that we challenge those tables that exclude others and invites us to work toward a community where everyone is treated with dignity.

Let us pray: God of grace, Christ who welcomes us all without distinction, thank you because your table is a communal one, and it is a place of dignity where we always find a place. Amen.

Día de la Reforma Protestante. Aniversario 509

UNA MESA DONDE HAY LUGAR PARA TODAS LAS PERSONAS.

LUCAS 14:7-11
