Anniversary of JUPRECU
YOUTH READY TO BUILD
I TIMOTHY 4:11-16
Do not let anyone
look down on you because you are young,
but set an example … (NIV)
1 Timothy 4:12a
The anecdote is well
known, but it’s worth repeating because of the profound lesson it contains.
When a famous basilica was built someone asked different workers what they were
working on. Every one of them responded according to the determined task he was
doing: “Here I am opening the foundations,” said one. “I am setting the mixture
to deposit it in those deep ditches,” answered another. A third, aware of his
mission, replied, “I am helping to build a temple to worship God.”
Beyond the physical
work, there was in this man a devotion for what he was doing, and a full
understanding of the altruistic finality of that work. Life goes through a
field of wisdom when it pursues a great goal. The safe harbor is seen when the
compass is precisely oriented. This truth clearly points to the cultivation of
the religious personality.
We have written that the building up of the church will, in some way, be
in direct proportion to
the solidity of building our own Christian lives. The youth, the fervent
pulse of the generations,
will be constructive if it is not driftwood in the sea and walks with a
certain and sure step to achieve superior goals. If it is Christian youth, it
will be vibration of height and songs of victory, because it knows and fights
for the most fruitful of human achievements. Christian youth that goes to the conquest
of Christ! Youth that Christ conquers!
Prayer: Thank you. Lord,
for our youth, who are your youth. Bless our JUPRECU. Amen.

La
anécdota es muy conocida, pero valga su
reiteración por la profunda lección que contiene. Cuando se construía una famosa
Basílica alguien preguntó a distintos obreros para qué trabajaban. Cada cual
respondía de acuerdo a la tarea determinada que hacía: “Aquí estoy abriendo los
cimientos” dijo uno “Fraguo la mezcla para depositarla en aquellas zanjas
profundas” respondió el otro. Un tercero, consciente de su misión contestó:
“Estoy ayudando a levantar este templo para adorar a Dios”.
Por
encima del trabajo físico, había en este hombre una devoción por lo que estaba
haciendo y un conocimiento pleno de la altruista finalidad de aquella obra. La
vida va por terreno de sabiduría cuando persigue un objetivo grande. Se
vislumbra el puerto seguro cuando la brújula se orienta con precisión. En el
cultivo de la personalidad religiosa esta verdad apunta claramente. Hemos
escrito que la edificación de la Iglesia en cierto modo estará en proporción
directa a la solidez de la edificación de nuestras propias vidas de cristianos.
La
juventud, fervoroso palpitar de las generaciones, será juventud constructiva si
no es leño en el mar y anda con paso cierto y seguro para lograr objetivos
superiores. Si es juventud cristiana, será vibración de altura y canto de
victoria, porque sabe y lucha por las
realizaciones más fecundas del ser humano. ¡Juventud cristiana que va a la
conquista de Cristo! ¡Juventud que Cristo la conquista!
Oración:
Gracias Señor, por nuestros jóvenes, que son tus jóvenes. Bendice a nuestra JUPRECU. Amén.
