EACH DAY HAS ENOUGH TROUBLE OF ITS OWN

MATTHEW 6: 25-34

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34

Facing material scarcity, we have seen how the human being becomes desperate to obtain what he will need tomorrow and for the next five or ten years. In this way daily worries turn into despair and uncontainable anxiousness that cloud spirituality and negatively affect our creativity. But then how are we to live this life? Perhaps living without working or making any effort?  Let us understand the passivity to which we have been invited. God has provided us with abilities and talents so that we will think and act. For life to last we must work, but in the most responsible way possible.  However, work cannot become the most important thing. We must always remember that “it is an act limited and conditioned by our physical strengths, our disposition, and our vocation.”

Prayer: God, grant that we may never lose the delight of dreaming and of thinking about the future as a glorious event according to your will.  Fill our lives with color and beauty, help us to trust in your providence, increase our faith.

BASTA A CADA DÍA SU PROPIO AFÁN

MATEO  6: 25-34

“No se preocupen por el día de mañana, porque el día

de mañana traerá sus propias preocupaciones.

¡Ya bastante tiene cada día con su propio afán!”

Mateo 6:34

Ante la escasez material, hemos visto cómo el ser humano se desespera por obtener lo que necesitará mañana y dentro de cinco o diez años. De esta forma la preocupación cotidiana se torna en desespero y ansiedad incontenibles, que opacan la espiritualidad y afectan negativamente nuestra creatividad. Pero ¿Cómo entonces vivir esta vida? ¿Acaso vivir para no trabajar y no esforzarse? Entendamos a cual pasividad se nos está invitando. Dios nos ha provisto de capacidades y talentos para que pensemos y actuemos. Para que la vida perdure es necesario el trabajo, pero de la manera más responsable que podamos asumirlo.

Sin embargo,  el trabajo no puede convertirse en el todo, recordemos siempre que “es un acto limitado y condicionado a nuestras fuerzas físicas, nuestra disposición y nuestra vocación”.

Oración: Dios que nunca perdamos el encanto de soñar y de pensar en el futuro como evento glorioso según tu voluntad, llena nuestras vidas de colorido y de belleza, haz que confiemos en tu providencia, auméntanos la fe.
