LET RIGHTEOUSNESS FLOW

Romans 1:16-17

“This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.”

Romans 3:22

One of the most difficult things to reach in spiritual life is the knowledge of God’s righteousness.

We are incapable of understanding a righteousness that “sends rain over the righteous and the unrighteous, and causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good.” 

We are incapable of understanding the righteousness of the Master of the Vineyard, who paid equally the one who had worked all day as the one who had only worked a small fraction of the day.

We are incapable of understanding the righteousness of a God who makes an innocent die in order to save the guilty, and who does not show favoritism among any persons, because He has “bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.” (Romans 11:32)

We especially fail to comprehend how the Pharisees and the prostitutes precede us in the righteousness of the Kingdom.

Nevertheless, that righteousness of God can be understood by us in the growth and development of our faith, because “the righteousness of God is revealed in faith.” 

Prayer: Righteous God, may your righteousness flow like a river and may the upright flow like a violent stream. Amen.

FLUYA LA JUSTICIA

Romanos 1:16-17

“La justicia de Dios, por medio de la fe en Jesucristo,

es para todos los que creen en él”

Romanos 3:22

Una de las cosas más difíciles de alcanzar en la vida espiritual es el conocimiento de la justicia de Dios.

Somos incapaces de entender una justicia que “haga llover sobre justos e injustos, y haga salir su sol sobre malos y buenos”.

Somos incapaces de entender la justicia del Señor de la Viña, que pagó por igual al que había trabajado todo el día como al que había trabajado tan solo una pequeña fracción del día.

Somos incapaces de entender la justicia de un Dios que hace morir al inocente para salvar a los culpables, y que no hace distinción de nombre alguno, pues “a todos ha encerrado en desobediencia para tener misericordia de todos” (Romanos 11:32)

Sobre todo no entendemos como los publicanos y las prostitutas pueden irnos delante en la justicia del Reino.

Sin embargo, esa justicia de Dios puede ser por nosotros entendida en el crecimiento y desarrollo de nuestra fe, porque “la justicia de Dios se descubre en la fe”.

Oración: Dios justo, que tu justicia corra como un río y el derecho mane como un impetuoso arroyo. Amén
