LEAVE THE SHADOWS

PSALM 36:7-9

“For you were once darkness,

but now you are light in the Lord.”

Ephesians 5:8

In front of the building where I live there’s a row of densely leafed trees whose height eliminates all light and visibility. One day my husband pruned a few branches. What a joy to see how the sunlight entered all the rooms of our house!

Perhaps we’ve lived a long time in semi-darkness. So now it is necessary to prune everything that has inhibited God’s light from penetrating the dark corners of our existence.

Once we have received that divine light, we should share it with other people. God wants his light to shine in our hearts. The Gospel is the true light Jesus brings, the good news of God’s grace. The Savior even calls all those who by faith accept to emerge from the darkness into the light.

Yes, by grace we have become sons and daughters of light. Let us try to constantly maintain a relationship with God without darkness. Let us bathe in his light, his life-word. Let’s allow it to penetrate our hearts and illuminate our context with that torrent of divine light.

Prayer:  Jesus, you are the light of the world, a light that cannot be hidden. Show us the way that brings us to your light. Enable us to offer clarity to the dark places of the world. In your name we pray. Amen.

SALIR DE LA OSCURIDAD

SALMO 36:7-9

“En otro tiempo erais tinieblas,

mas ahora sois luz en el Señor”

Efesios 5:8

Frente al edificio donde vivo había una hilera de árboles muy frondosos, cuya altura nos quitaba toda luz y visibilidad. Un día mi esposo podó algunas ramas. ¡Qué alegría ver cómo la luz del sol entraba en todas las habitaciones de la casa!

Quizás hayamos vivido durante mucho tiempo en la oscuridad. Entonces ha sido necesario podar todo aquello que no permite que la luz de Dios penetre en los rincones oscuros de nuestra existencia.

Una vez que hemos recibido esa luz divina, debemos compartirla con otras personas

Dios desea que en nuestro corazón brille su luz. La verdadera luz que aporta Jesús es el Evangelio, la buena nueva de la gracia de Dios. El Salvador aun llama de las tinieblas a la luz a todos los que le aceptan por la fe.

Sí, por gracia nos hemos convertido en hijos e hijas de luz. Tratemos de conservar constantemente una relación sin oscuridad con Dios. Pongámonos bajo su luz, su Palabra de vida. Dejemos que ella penetre en nuestro corazón e iluminemos nuestro contexto con ese torrente de luz divina.

Oración: Jesús, tú que eres la luz del mundo, una luz que no se puede esconder, muéstranos el camino que conduce a tu luz. Permite que podamos brindar claridad a las oscuridades de este mundo. En tu nombre oramos, amén.
