THE STAR OF HOPE

ROMANS 5: 1-5

. . . and hope does not disappoint us, because

God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

Romans 5:5

            There are millions of stars in the sky. Stars of all colors: silvery, green, golden, red and blue. One day when they were restless they approached God and said: “We would like to live on the Earth among the human beings.”  “So it shall be,” replied the Lord. “I shall keep all you little ones the way that you are seen, so that you can descend to the earth.”

            It is told that in that night there was a lovely shower of stars. Some nestled in the church towers; others were playing and running with the fireflies in the fields; others mixed in with children’s toys, and the Earth was marvelously lit.

            But as time passed, the stars decided to return to the sky, leaving the Earth dark and sad. “Why did you come back?” asked God as they were returning to heaven. And God said to them, “I see! Your place is here in heaven.  The Earth is the place for what is temporary, for what errs, what dies, where nothing is perfect. The heavens are the place of perfection, of the unchangeable, of the eternal, where nothing perishes.”

            After all the stars arrived, and counting them, God said, “We’re missing one star. Could it be that it got lost on the way?” An angel who was nearby replied, “No, Lord, one star decided to stay there. She discovered that her place is precisely where there is imperfection, where there are limits, where things don’t do well, where there is struggle and sorrow.” “Which star is this?” God asked again. “It is Hope, Lord: the green star.”

            Right now, take this little star into your heart, the green star of hope. Don’t let her escape, and don’t let her burn out. Be assured that she will light your path; always be positive and be grateful to God for everything. Always be happy and the light of your heart will infect others . . . .

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for your star which accompanies me and illuminates every step I take. Amen.

LA ESTRELLA DE LA ESPERANZA

ROMANOS 5: 1-5

Y esta esperanza no nos defrauda, porque Dios ha derramado

su amor en nuestro corazón por el Espíritu Santo que nos ha dado

Romanos 5:5

Existían millones de estrellas en el cielo. Estrellas de todos los colores: plateadas, verdes, doradas, rojas y azules Un día inquietas, ellas se acercaron a Dios y le dijeron: “Señor Dios, nos gustaría vivir en la Tierra entre los seres humanos”. “Así será hecho”, respondió el Señor. “Las conservaré a todas ustedes pequeñitas, como son vistas para que puedan bajar a la tierra.” Cuéntese que, en aquella noche, hubo una linda lluvia de estrellas. Algunas se acurrucaron en las torres de las iglesias, otras fueron a jugar y a correr junto con las luciérnagas por los campos, otras se mezclaron con los juguetes de los niños y la Tierra quedó maravillosamente iluminada. Pero al pasar del tiempo, las estrellas resolvieron volver al cielo, dejando la Tierra oscura y triste. “¿Por qué volvieron?” Preguntó Dios a medida que ellas iban llegando al cielo. Y el Señor les dijo: - “¡Claro! El lugar de ustedes es aquí en el cielo. La Tierra es el lugar de lo transitorio, de aquello que pasa, de aquel que cae, de aquel que yerra, de aquel que muere, nada es perfecto. El cielo es el lugar de la perfección, de lo inmutable, de lo eterno, donde nada perece”.  Después que llegaron todas las estrellas y verificando su número, Dios habló de nuevo: “Nos está faltando una estrella. ¿Será que se perdió en el camino?” Un ángel que estaba cerca replicó: - “No Señor, una estrella resolvió quedarse. Ella descubrió que su lugar es exactamente donde existe la imperfección, donde hay límite, donde las cosas no van bien, donde hay lucha y dolor.” “ ¿Qué estrella es esa?” Volvió Dios a preguntar. - “Es la Esperanza, Señor. La estrella verde.”

 Recibe en este momento esta estrellita en tu corazón, la esperanza, tu estrella verde. No dejes que ella huya y no permitas que se apague. Ten certeza que ella iluminará tu camino, sé siempre positivo y agradece a Dios por todo. Sé siempre feliz y contagia con tu corazón iluminado a otras personas…

Oración: Gracias Señor, porque se que tu estrella me acompaña e ilumina en cada paso que doy. Amén.
