MANY GIFTS, A SINGLE BODY

ROMANS 12:4-8

We have different gifts,

according to the grace given to each one of us….

Romans 12:6a

The Day of Lay Ministry has a special significance for the Presbyterian Church in Cuba. Our church enjoys a truly active laity, of which it can feel proud of and truly satisfied. Participating in the direction, administration, and government of the church are brothers and sisters, acting as Elders.

     We also rely on the hardworking Board of Deacons, who take up the offering, hand out the programs, and attend to the visitors each Sunday. Our Sunday school teachers, through the deepening study of the Bible, contribute to the theological training and spiritual education of children, youth, and adults.

  

Elders and Deacons serve the Lord with the ministry of music, with the gift of visitation and through the care of the elderly; they bring the encouragement of the church to those most in need. They clean, care for, and beautify the Sanctuary and its buildings. They excel in tasks of evangelization within and outside the community. They attend congregational gathering, and each day, in prayer and study, prepare to proclaim the truth of the Gospel.  

Our most deepest admiration and respect goes out to them,  as well as the exhortation of continuing to develop those gifts the Lord offers them so that they can continue serving Him selflessly and devotedly..

Prayer:  We give you thanks, gracious God, for the Reformed Presbyterian Church in our country. We ask that you might continue blessing, day after day, the labors that so many lay persons carry out in your kingdom. Amen.

UN SOLO CUERPO, MUCHOS DONES

ROMANOS 12:4-8

Tenemos dones diferentes, según la gracia que se nos ha dado...

Romanos  12:6a

El Día del Ministerio Laico adquiere para la Iglesia Presbiteriana en Cuba una significación especial. Nuestra Iglesia cuenta con un laicado verdaderamente activo del cual se pueden sentir orgullosa y realmente satisfecha de hermanos y hermanas que: Participan en la dirección, administración y gobierno de la Iglesia (Presbíteros Gobernantes). También contamos con un laborioso Cuerpo de Diáconos y Diaconizas que recogen las ofrendas, reparten programas y atienden los visitantes cada domingo. Maestros de la Escuela Dominical que con la profundización y el estudio de la Biblia contribuyen con la preparación teológica y formación espiritual de niños, jóvenes y adultos. Sirven al Señor con el ministerio de la música. Con el don de la visitación y el cuidado de enfermos llevan el aliento de la Iglesia a los que más lo necesitan. Limpian, cuidan, y embellecen el Templo y sus edificaciones. Se destacan en tareas de evangelización dentro y fuera de la comunidad. Atienden congregaciones y se preparan cada día en oración y estudio para proclamar las verdades del evangelio. Hacia todos ellos vaya dirigido nuestra más profunda admiración y respeto, así como la exhortación de continuar desarrollando estos dones que el Señor les brinda, para que puedan continuar sirviéndole con abnegación y esmero.

Oración: Te damos gracias amado Dios, por La Iglesia Presbiteriana-Reformada en nuestro país. Te pedimos que sigas bendiciendo día tras día el trabajo que realizan tantas personas laicas para tu obra. Amén.
