CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD

NUMBERS 13:1-33

We saw the Nephilim there

(the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim).

We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes,

and we looked the same to them. (NIV)

Numbers 13:33

Moses sent 12 spies to Canaan. When they returned, the spies not only saw themselves as locusts, but they deduced that the others also saw them as inept. That mentality of “locusts” is typical of people who feel inferior. Many people say, “I feel ugly, and I know that for others I’m also ugly.” But these people aren’t ugly. They simply deduce that others see them in the same way that they perceive themselves.

If you struggle with feelings of inferiority, feel assured that the people who know you see you as more intelligent, more attractive, and more precious than you see yourself.

You have been created in the image of God. Your abilities are many. You have numerous characteristics that others admire. Assuredly you’ve experienced failure, but this doesn’t mean that you are a failure. Despite your defects God has great plans for your life. Recite this truth and act according to it.

Prayer: Give me, Lord, the vision to overlook the poor image I have of myself, and to see myself as you see me. Give me the confidence to surpass my limitations, to achieve things according to your will. Amen.

CREADO A IMAGEN DE DIOS

NÚMEROS 13:1-33

También vimos allí gigantes… y éramos nosotros,

a nuestro parecer, como langostas; y así les parecíamos a ellos.

Moisés envió doce espías a Canaán. Al regresar los espías no sólo se veían como langostas, sino que dedujeron que los otros también los veían como debiluchos. Esa mentalidad de “langostas” es típica de las personas que se sienten inferiores. Muchas personas dicen: “Me siento fea, y sé que para los demás también soy fea”. Pero esas personas no son feas. Simplemente deducen que los demás las ven de la misma manera que ellas perciben.

Si luchas con sentimientos de inferioridad, ten la seguridad de que las personas que te conocen te ven más inteligente, más atractivo y más valioso de lo que tú te ves.

Has sido creado a imagen de Dios. Tus habilidades son muchas. Tienes decenas de características que otros admiran. Seguramente has experimentado el fracaso. Pero eso no significa que seas un fracasado.

A pesar de tus defectos, Dios tiene grandes planes para tu vida. Repite esta verdad y actúa acorde con ella.

Oración: Concédeme Señor la visión para pasar por alto la pobre imagen que tengo de mí mismo y verme como tú me ves. Dame la confianza de ir más allá de mis limitaciones para lograr cosas conforme a tu voluntad. Amén.
