WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO GET?

1 Thessalonians 2:1-7

“For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.”

1 Thessalonians 2:4 (NRSV)

            The main mission of a Christian person is to preach the Gospel wherever he or she is. In this way, Christians strive to bring the Word to those who do not know it. However, even though we are aware that this mission has as its sole reward that people live a life of fortunes and faith, there are people who take advantage of their knowledge of the Word to approach others out of sheer interest.

It is sad to see a brother or sister sit next to someone new to the faith to explain what is not understood in a sermon or Bible study with the intention of being able to benefit in the store, in the wine  cellar or in the pharmacy where that person works.  Beware! The Word of God comes to us as a free blessing, so let us take it to people.

 

Prayer: Lord, by preaching the gospel let the only thing we want to obtain is the satisfaction of putting your love in someone's heart. Amen.

¿QUE ESPERAS OBTENER?

            La misión principal de una persona cristiana es predicar el Evangelio donde se encuentre. De esta manera, los cristianos y cristianas nos esforzamos para llevar la Palabra a quien no la conoce. Sin embargo, aun cuando somos conscientes que esta misión tiene como única recompensa que las personas vivamos una vida de bonanzas y de fe, existen personas que aprovechan su conocimiento de la Palabra para acercarse a otras por puro interés.

            Es triste ver a un hermano sentarse al lado de alguien nuevo en la fe para explicarle aquello que no entiende de un sermón o de un estudio bíblico con la intención de poder beneficiarse luego, en la tienda, en la bodega o en la farmacia donde trabaja esa persona. !Cuidado!, la Palabra de Dios nos llega como una bendición gratuita, de esa misma  manera llevémosla a las personas.

 

Oración: Señor, permite que  lo único que queramos obtener al predicar el Evangelio sea la satisfacción de poner en el corazón de alguien tu amor. Amén.
