IN STILLNESS AND CALM

Matthew 1:23

Be still and know that I am God!

Psalm 46:10a (NRSV)

Stillness is getting harder and harder to come by in this restless and agitated world.

We must strive to find time for the Lord. When we want to be with the Lord in a state of calm, distractions will come at us from all sides. Nevertheless, our intimate connection with Him is worth whatever it takes. So we must not get discouraged or give up.

Let’s set aside a time without interruptions to be with our Father. Let's focus on a passage from the Bible and take a deep breath to relax. The Lord says, “Remember, I am Emmanuel, God with you. Rest in my presence. Let your worries evaporate. Be still, my beloved, and know that I am God.”

The longer we keep our gaze on the Lord, the more we will rejoice in his majestic splendor and the more confident we will be in his sovereign control. He is our refuge. There is transcendent stability in his presence.

By reflecting on the intensity of his power and glory, our perspective will change, and our problems will diminish.

 

Prayer: Thank you, my good God, for your loving company and constant presence in my life. Amen.

EN QUIETUD Y CALMA

Mateo 1:23

Estad quietos, y conoced que yo soy Dios

Salmo 46:10a

La quietud es cada vez más difícil de conseguir en este mundo inquieto y agitado.

Debemos esforzarnos para encontrar un tiempo para el Señor. Cuando intentamos reunirnos tranquilamente con Él, las distracciones nos van a llegar de todos lados. Sin embargo, nuestra conexión íntima con Él es digna de que se luche por ella. Así es que no debemos desanimarnos ni rendirnos.

Separemos un tiempo sin interrupciones para estar con nuestro Padre. Concentrémonos en algún pasaje de la Biblia y respiremos hondo para relajarnos. El Señor nos dice: Recuerda, yo soy Emmanuel, Dios contigo. Descansa en mi presencia. Deja que tus preocupaciones se alejen. Quédate quieto, mi amado, y reconoce que yo soy Dios.

Mientras más tiempo mantengamos la mirada en el Señor, más nos regocijaremos en su majestuoso esplendor y más confianza tendremos en su control soberano. Él es nuestro refugio. En su presencia hay una estabilidad trascendente.

Al reflexionar en la intensidad de su poder y gloria, nuestra perspectiva cambiará y nuestros problemas se verán más pequeños.

 

Oración: Gracias mi buen Dios, por tu amorosa compañía y tu presencia incesante en mi vida. Amén.
