MY STRENGTH AND MY SHIELD

Salmo 18:1-2

…my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 18:2 (NRSV)

The Lord is my strength and my shield. He never ceases to work, sometimes in marvelous ways, to invigorate and protect us. The more we trust in Him, the more our hearts will leap for joy.

Our Father wants us to trust Him absolutely, resting in His sovereign control over the universe.

When circumstances in the world seem to be spinning out of control, let us cling to Him with the assurance that He knows what He is doing. We can trust that the Lord knows what He is doing and He arranges every event in our lives for our benefit in this world and the next.

As long as we find ourselves in the midst of adversity, our greatest challenge is to continue to trust that He is sovereign and good. Let us not expect to understand His ways and styles.

When we react to our tribulations with thanksgiving, convinced that the Lord can bring something good out of the most difficult situations, that act of faith encourages and glorifies Him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, you who are sovereign and good, calm our hearts when we do not understand why we go through adversity. Grant that we may know how to thank you in spite of our unfavorable circumstances. Amen. .

MI FUERZA Y MI ESCUDO

Salmo 18:1-2

Dios mío, fortaleza mía, en él confiaré; mi escudo, y la fuerza de mi salvación, mi alto refugio

Salmo 18:2

El Señor es mi fuerza y mi escudo. No deja de trabajar, a veces de maneras maravillosas, para vigorizarnos y protegernos. Mientras más confiemos en Él, más saltará de alegría nuestro corazón.

Nuestro Padre quiere que confiemos absolutamente en Él, descansando en su control soberano sobre el universo.

Cuando en el mundo las circunstancias parezcan estar dando vueltas fuera de control, aferrémonos a Él con la seguridad de que Él sabe lo que está haciendo. Podemos confiar en que el Señor sabe lo que está haciendo y organiza cada uno de los acontecimientos de nuestras vidas para nuestro beneficio en este mundo y el siguiente.

Mientras nos encontremos en medio de la adversidad, nuestro mayor reto es seguir confiando en que Él es soberano y bueno. No esperemos entender sus formas y estilos.

Cuando reaccionamos ante nuestras tribulaciones con acción de gracias, convencidos de que el Señor puede sacar algo bueno de las más difíciles situaciones, ese acto de fe nos anima y lo glorifica.

 

Oración: Padre Celestial, tú que eres soberano y bueno, calma nuestros corazones cuando no entendamos por qué pasamos por la adversidad. Permite que sepamos agradecerte a pesar de nuestras circunstancias desfavorables. Amén.
