A Glance TO THE HIGH

Zachariah 5:5

But in keeping with his promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells. (NIV)

2 Peter 3:13

The faculty that the human being has in raising his eyes is a source of strength and power.

On a certain occasion, when we were fishing, the waves of the sea became rough and one of the young men who accompanied us became dizzy. The old captain approached him to say affably, “Look up, don’t look at the ship or the waves, and you’ll be less likely to get seasick.

In the midst of this stormy sea of life, with the fragile ship of civilization as the toy of the waves, it is necessary that you look up if you want to preserve your moral balance. By raising our eyes above the mundane noise, our communication with God, the source of all spiritual power, will rise.

Let us raise our prayer to the Almighty, and in times of trials we will feel safe, we will recognize his love for sinners, and thus we will perceive a world in which justice prevails, when the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God, like the waters cover the sea.

 

Prayer: Beloved God, allow that in every moment of anxiety I can keep my eyes raised up. Amen.

UNA MIRADA A LO ALTO

Zacarias 5:5

Esperamos el cielo nuevo y la tierra nueva que Dios ha prometido, en los cuales todo será justo y bueno

La facultad que el ser humano tiene de elevar la vista es fuente de fuerza y poder.

En cierta ocasión, cuando nos dedicábamos a la pesca, las olas del mar se encresparon y uno de los jóvenes que nos acompañaban se mareó. El viejo capitán se le acercó para decirle con afabilidad: “Mira hacia arriba, no mires al barco ni las olas y tendrás menos probabilidades de marearte.

En medio de este mar tempestuoso de la vida, con la frágil nave de la civilización como juguete de las olas, es menester que mires hacia arriba si quieres conservar tu equilibrio moral. Al elevar la vista por encima del fragor mundano, se elevará nuestra comunicación con Dios, fuente de toda potencia espiritual.

Elevemos nuestra oración al Todopoderoso y en los momentos de pruebas nos sentiremos seguros, reconoceremos su amor por los pecadores, y así percibiremos un mundo en el que impere la justicia, cuando la tierra será llena del conocimiento de la gloria de Dios, como las aguas cubren la mar.

 

Oración: Dios Amado, permite que en cada momento de zozobra pueda mantener en alto mi vista. Amén.
