God Lifts Us Up
Psalm 80
Restore us, O God, make your face to shine on us, that we may be truly saved!
Psalm 80:3 NIV
An old saying goes: “People are not measured by how many times they fall but by how many times they get back up.”
Psalm 80 is the song of a people that has fallen, has been devastated and cries out to God in search of restoration. This term, “restore” is in line with the above-mentioned proverb, it comes from Latin and means precisely: to get back on one's feet, to reestablish oneself.
The situations we live in as a consequence of violence, injustices and other social evils, leave us on the ground; in the same way, sometimes, our decisions lead us to the same place, they make us fall, placing us in the same situation of that people.
However, to restore ourselves, to get back on our feet after having fallen, is a vital necessity. To achieve this, it is essential to recognize the condition in which we find ourselves, to feel the ground and from there to have the opportunity to accept our limits, always crying out to God for his support, to reinvent and renew ourselves.
Prayer: Thank you Lord because while you have created us in freedom, you are always attentive to our cries, because your care is never lacking. Amen.

Dios nos levanta
Salmo 80
¡Dios, restáuranos! ¡Haz resplandecer tu rostro y seremos salvos!
Salmo 80:3
