Prudence, reason. And justice

Matthew 17:24-27

…Jesus said to him, ”Then the children are exempt.  (NIV)

Matthew 17: 26b

Doing things well is part of the path, complying with what is established, having respectful relationships with others. This does not eliminate, however, the timely complaint and the legitimate right to disagree with something.

Jesus did not have privileges, nor did he want them. Peter, a disciple of Jesus, answers safely and quickly, considering that they should pay the tax, and Jesus does not object. He was willing to pay it, without falling into controversy with those who had asked him, the temple tax collectors. Priests and rabbis do not pay this tax. Jesus does not make any claim, but tells him something that is on another plane and so important, “the children are free then.”

Sometimes we find ourselves in difficult situations, where maintaining a conciliatory stance is quite a challenge, but above all, it is necessary to prove that we are right, sometimes so as not to be a stumbling block for those next to us.

 

Prayer: Dear God, give us the wisdom we need every day. Extend your hand in every difficult situation, help us to see the value of a respectful dialogue, of contribution to all, and of being conciliatory and fair. Amen.

Prudencia, razón y justicia.

Mateo 17:24-27

Jesús le dijo: Luego los  hijos están exentos.

Mateo 17: 26b

Hacer bien las cosas es parte del camino, cumplir con  lo establecido,  tener relaciones de respeto con los demás.  Aunque esto no elimina la denuncia oportuna y el derecho  legitimo de no estar de acuerdo con algo.

Jesús no tuvo privilegio, ni los queria. Pedro,  discipulo de  Jesús, responde seguro y rápido, consideraba que debian  pagar el impuesto, y Jesús no  pone  objeción.  Estaba  dispuesto a pagarlo, sin caer en controversia con quienes le  habian preguntado, los recaudadores de impuesto del  templo.  Los  sacerdotes  y los  rabinos  no  pagan  este  impuesto. Jesús no hace ningún reclamo, pero le  dice  algo  que queda en otro plano y tan importante, los hijos están  libres entonces.

A veces nos encontramos con situaciones dificiles, donde  mantener una postura conciliadora es todo un reto, pero es  necesario por encima el demostrar tener la razón, en  ocasiones por no ser de tropiezo a quienes tenemos al lado.

 

Oración: Amado  Dios,  danos la sabiduria que necesitamos  cada dia.  Extiende  tu  mano en cada situación dificil,  ayúdanos a ver el  valor  de un diálogo respetuoso, de aporte  para todos y todas, y de ser conciliadores y justos. Amén.
