THE BLESSING OF ASKING FORGIVENESS AND FORGIVING

Luke 17:1-6

Even if they sin against you seven times in a day, and seven times come back to you saying, “I repent,” you must forgive them.  (NIV)

Luke 17:4

Reconciliation is a matter for two, but sometimes it is also just a matter for one, because sometimes we need to reconcile with ourselves.

Families, friends, co-workers, and close neighbors who also become family may all have different views regarding events, of what we come to interpret, and then misunderstandings arise. Forgiving someone who approaches us with feelings for a situation that occurred that have hurt us is necessary and good for both parties, no matter how many times, and always should be done  genuinely.

Now, we have to know that asking for forgiveness is also a blessing. It is very important to recognize that we can make mistakes, that we are not always right, that we hurt, and that sometimes we do it from our own wounds. Asking for forgiveness legitimately heals us, reconciles us with ourselves and with those close to us.

 

Prayer: Dear God, may we always recognize what a blessing it is to forgive, and also ask for forgiveness when we make mistakes. May we live your word in our lives. Amen.

LA BENDICIÓN DE PEDIR PERDÓN Y DE PERDONAR

Lucas 17:1-6

Y si siete veces al día pecare contra ti, y siete veces al día volviere a ti, diciendo: Me arrepiento; perdónale.

Lucas 17:4

La reconciliación es cosa de dos, pero en ocasiones también es solo cosa de uno, porque a veces necesitamos reconciliarnos con nosotros mismos.

Las familias, los amigos, los compañeros de trabajo, los vecinos cercanos que también se hacen familia. Todos tenemos miradas diferentes de los momentos, de lo que llegamos a interpretar y surgen los malos entendidos. Perdonar a quien se nos acerca sentido por una situación ocurrida que nos lastimó, es necesario y bueno para los dos, sean las veces que sean, y siempre hacerlo genuinamente. Eso desde un lugar. Ahora, tenemos que saber que pedir perdón es también una bendición.       Reconocer que nos podemos equivocar, que no siempre estamos en lo correcto, que herimos, que a veces lo hacemos desde nuestras propias heridas, esto es muy importante. Pedir perdón legítimamente, nos sana, nos reconcilia con nosotros y con quienes tenemos cerca.

 

Oración: Amado Dios, que siempre podamos reconocer la bendición que es perdonar y también pedir perdón cuando nos equivocamos, que podamos vivir tu Palabra en nuestra vida. Amén
