COMPLAINT OR TESTIMONY?

Luke 21: 12-19

And so you will bear testimony to me.

Luke 21: 13 (NIV)

Jesus does not announce a smooth path for his followers. He tells them that it will be difficult, but that only those who are able to see in the situations of conflict or anguish that lie ahead, an opportunity to confirm the divine presence in our midst, will be his true witnesses.

In spite of this teaching, complaining invades our communities today; the weekly meeting becomes a pretext to complain about the heat, the shortages, the idleness and indolence of which we are victims every day, the discomforts and illnesses. . . . But, where is the opportunity to which we are called by Jesus, to bear witness to Him? Are we aware that the mental attitude of scarcity is the complaint? Living a complaining life enslaves us, it prevents us from seeing with gratitude the many blessings that God pours out to us each day.

This morning let us do an exercise, thinking about the challenges that lie ahead of us in our journey and let us repeat to each one of them: “It will be an opportunity to give testimony of Christ”. Let us enter this new day with an attitude of gratitude, so that we may be filled with the abundance that God offers us.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for everything you give me, even when I am not capable of perceiving it. May I be able to live this and every day, finding myself also, in every trial that comes my way. Amen.

¿QUEJA O TESTIMONIO?

Lucas 21: 12-19

Esa será una oportunidad para que ustedes hablen de mí.

Lucas 21: 13

Jesús no anuncia un camino llano para sus seguidores. Él les adelanta que será dificil, pero que sólo serán verdaderos testigos suyos quienes sean capaces de ver en las situaciones de conflicto o angustia que se avecinan, una oportunidad para dar confirmación de la presencia divina en medio nuestro.

A pesar de esta enseñanza, la queja invade hoy a nuestras comunidades; el reencuentro cada semana se vuelve un pretexto para lamentarse del calor, la escasez, la desidia e indolencia de las que somos victimas a diario, los malestares y enfermedades...pero, l,dónde queda entonces la oportunidad a la que somos llamados por Jesús, de dar testimonio suyo? l,Somos conscientes de que la actitud mental de la escasez, es la queja? Vivir una vida quejumbrosa nos esclaviza, nos impide ver con gratitud las muchas bendiciones que Dios derrama sobre nosotros a diario.

En esta mañana hagamos un ejercicio, pensemos en los desafios que tiene por delante nuestra jornada y repitamos ante cada uno: “Será una oportunidad para dar testimonio de Cristo”. Entremos en este nuevo dia con una actitud de gratitud, para poder llenarnos de la abundancia que Dios nos ofrece.

 

Oración: Gracias Padre por todo lo que me das, aun cuando no sea capaz de percibirlo. Permite que yo pueda vivir este y todos los dias, encontrándome también, en cada prueba que se me presente. Amén.
