TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GIVE THANKS

Psalm 16

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices…

Psalm 16: 9ª (NIV)

To give thanks is almost a sacred verb, an action that encompasses the softest part of our essence, an act that carries the implicit recognition that we have received good, and at the same time we share in humbling words as retribution for the giver.

The most common thing is to invoke God when we are going through a difficult time, when we need his strength, his encouragement, when we have a longing… but how often do we give thanks for the many gifts, the many signs of strength, the daily miracles that we receive and can only come from a love that embraces us as loving sons and daughters?

Let us ask ourselves: this morning did we give thanks for the Sun, for breathing on this His creation, for the people who surround and support us, for the beauty of the plants, for the music of the birds, for another new day? How many times did we invoke the presence of God in our times of great joy to be thankful from our hearts for some achievement, for that unexpected hug, for the reunion with a loved one, for the birth of a new life?

May this psalm make us think about all the blessings that we have received today, and throughout our lives, and may we lift up a sincere prayer to that good God, being thankful with joy that up until now, He has been with us.

 

Prayer: Thank you, God of life, for another day in this world of yours. Amen.

HOY ES UN BUEN DIA PARA AGRADECER

Salmo 16

Gran regocijo hay en mi corazón y en mi alma...

Salmo 16: 9a

Agradecer es un verbo casi sagrado, una acción que recoge lo más suave de nuestra esencia, un acto que lleva implicito reconocer que hemos recibido un bien, y a la vez compartimos en humildad palabras como retribución para quien lo brinda.

Lo más común es invocar a Dios cuando atravesamos por un momento dificil, cuando necesitamos sus fuerzas, su aliento, cuando tenemos un anhelo... pero lcuántas veces agradecemos los múltiples regalos, las múltiples señales de fuerza, los milagros cotidianos que recibimos y que solo pueden salir de un amor que nos mima como hijos e hijas amadas?

Preguntémonos: lesta mañana agradecimos por el Sol, por respirar sobre esta su creación, por las personas que nos rodean y apoyan, por la belleza de las plantas, por la música de los pájaros, por otro nuevo dia? lCuántas veces invocamos la presencia de Dios en nuestros momentos de mayor alegria para agradecer desde el pecho por algún logro, por ese abrazo inesperado, por el reencuentro con un ser querido, por el nacimiento de una nueva vida?

Que este salmo nos haga pensar en todas las bendiciones que hemos recibido hoy, y a lo largo de nuestra vida, y levantemos una oración sincera a ese Dios bueno, agradeciendo con alegria que, hasta aqui, nos haya acompañado.

 

Oración: Gracias Dios de la vida por otro dia en este tu mundo. Amén
