RESPONDING TO THE CALL

Mark 1: 14-28

“Come follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

Mark 1:1 7 NIV

Jesus’ call to his disciples to follow him can also be a call to any of us today. In the midst of Cuba’s diverse realities, we remember that Christ calls us to abandon our safety nets and respond courageously to his call.

So, just as Peter and Andrew left their fishing nets, we often face the challenge of leaving behind the familiar to embrace the mission of Jesus. In our communities, we are fishers of people, sharing the message of love and hope with those around us

How many things would have turned out differently if their answer was no? What if some pretext had prevented them from joining the disciples? When God calls, you have to be brave

 

Prayer: Lord, give us the strength to respond to Jesus’ call. Open our ears to hear you and move our wills to follow you. Do not allow us to be prisoners of our comfort zone. May we be part of your transforming love in our communities. Amen.

ENERO 21, DOMINGO

RESPONDIENDO AL LLAMADO

Marcos 1: 14-20

Jesús les dijo: Vengan conmigo y los haré pescadores de hombres.

Marcos 1:17

La llamada de Jesús a sus discípulos a seguirlo también puede ser un llamado a cualquiera de nosotros hoy. En medio de las diversas realidades cubanas, recordamos que Cristo nos llama a abandonar nuestras redes de seguridad y a responder con valentía a su llamado.

Así como Pedro y Andrés dejaron sus redes de pesca, a menudo enfrentamos el desafío de dejar atrás lo conocido para abrazar la misión de Jesús. En nuestras comunidades, somos pescadores de personas, compartimos el mensaje de amor y esperanza con aquellos que nos rodean.

¿Cuántas cosas hubieran resultado diferente si su respuesta fuese no? ¿Si algún pretexto hubiera impedido que ellos se unieran a los discípulos? Cuando Dios llama, hay que ser valientes.

 

Oración: Señor, danos la fortaleza para responder al llamado de Jesús. Abre nuestro oídos para escucharte y mueve nuestras voluntades a seguirte. No permitas que seamos prisioneros de nuestra zona de confort. Que podamos ser parte de tu amor transformador en nuestras comunidades. Amén.
