LET’S GET THE BOAT READY

Mark 3: 7-12

I know well that the Lord is with me; therefore in God, whose promise I praise, I trust without fear..

Psalm 56:3-4 NIV

When we pass by a market and see a group of people crowded around, we immediately ask ourselves, “What are they selling?” and if we want what is there. The question arises, “Will I be able to buy?”

I imagine that the crowd that followed Jesus also wondered something similar, only they already knew what He was giving them.  They knew  that they would not have to pay anything to obtain what He gives: a healing, and life in abundance. That  is why they rushed to Him to at least try to touch Him.

So,  he was on the seashore with his disciples, healing and teaching all who came from all parts, from the North, the South, the East and the West. And the evil spirits recognized him and fell down before him,

What about us, do we make the boat easier for our Master, safeguarding and sharing his teachings, or do we want to be  famous and continue to keep the multitude who need Jesus waiting?

 

Prayer: Lord, have mercy on us, heal us and allow us to accompany you in proclaiming your Kingdom here and now. Amen

ENERO 18, JUEVES

ALISTEMOS LA BARCA

Marcos 3: 7-12

Yo sé bien que el Señor estoc conmigo; por eso en Dios, cuya promesa alabo, sin temor me confío.

Salmo 54: 9b-10

Cuando pasamos por algún mercado y vemos una multitud aglomerada alrededor, enseguida nos preguntamos, - ¿Qué estarán vendiendo?, y si queremos lo que hay surge la duda, - ¿alcanzaré a comprar?

Imagino que aquella muchedumbre que seguía a Jesús también se preguntaba algo parecido, sólo que ya sabía qué les estaba dando y también que no tendrían que pagar nada para obtener lo que Él da: sanidad, vida en abundancia; por eso se abalanzaban sobre Él para tratar al menos de tocarlo.

Así estuvo a orillas del mar con sus discípulos, sanando y enseñando a todos los que llegaba de todas partes, del Norte, del Sur, del Este y del Oeste. ¡Y los espíritus malignos lo reconocen y se postran delante de Él!

¿Y nosotros?, ¿le facilitamos la barca a nuestro Maestro, salvaguardando y compartiendo sus enseñanzas? ¿O se nos sube la fama para la cabeza y seguimos haciendo esperar a la multitud que necesitan de Jesús?

 

Oración: Señor, ten piedad de nosotros, sánanos y permite que te acompañemos en la proclamación de tu Reino aquí y ahora. Amén.
