LET’S GO TO THE OTHER SIDE

Mark 4: 35-41

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”

Jesus’ invitation to follow him is a constant going over to the other side; it is to leave our comfort zone, our calm seas and enter into areas where perhaps strong storms may break out, with winds that stir up all our false securities; where we must face our fears that we sometimes would prefer to silence. Here we certainly find ourselves encountering the questions of the Master; that lead us, in the midst of everything that we live, to reposition our view, our attitudes, and our options, to overcome a lack of faith that can envelop us at times and to not forget that Jesus is there at our side in the same boat giving us the strength and courage necessary to calm the storms and calm the winds that we carry within. We know that they are part of our lives but that they are not there to prevent us from reaching the other side but rather to grow and arrive with more strength and wisdom to the place where Jesus invites us.

 

Prayer: Master, do not allow our fears to prevent us from responding to your call. Give us the faith that will sustain us to walk together to you and to go there where you send us. Amen.

PASEMOS AL OTRO LADO

Marcos 4: 35-41

Aquel dia, cuando llegó la noche, les dijo: Pasemos al otro lado.

La invitación de Jesús a seguirle es un constante pasar al otro lado, es salir de nuestra zona de comodidad, de nuestros mares en calma y adentrarnos en zonas donde quizás se desaten fuertes tempestades, con vientos que remuevan todas nuestras falsas seguridades; donde tengamos que enfrentar nuestros miedos que en ocasiones preferimos silenciar, donde con certeza nos encontraremos con las preguntas cuestionadoras del Maestro; que nos llevan, en medio de todo lo que vivimos, a re-colocar nuestra mirada, nuestras actitudes, nuestras opciones, superar la falta de fe que nos puede envolver por momentos y no olvidar que Jesús está ahi a nuestro lado en la misma barca dándonos la fortaleza y valentia necesarias para serenar tempestades y calmar vientos que llevamos dentro, sabiendo que hacen parte de nuestras vidas pero que no están para impedir que lleguemos al otro lado sino para crecer y llegar con más fortaleza y sabiduria al lugar a donde Jesús nos invita.

 

Oración: Maestro permite que nuestros temores no impidan responder a tu llamado. Danos la fe que nos sostenga para andar junto a ti e ir alli hacia donde nos envias. Amén.
