SUNDAY, JANUARY 7

A STAR ALWAYS SHOWS THE WAY

Matthew 2: 1-12

“Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.”

Matthew 2: 2 (NRSV)

The wise men, on seeing the star that announced the birth of the King of the Jews, were set in motion to find and worship him.

This act of faith and searching teaches us that we should be attentive to the signs that God sends us  and be prepared to embark on a journey to meet Him. Moreover, the attitude of the wise men in offering gifts to the baby Jesus teaches us the importance of giving our best in the worship of God.  We should present God with our gifts, talents, and resources as an expression of love and gratitude toward God.

Let’s think and reflect on our willingness to seek Jesus, worship him with sincerity and offer him the best of ourselves. Let’s be aware of the signs that God sends us for there is always a star to follow as it guides our path.

 

Prayer: Today we want to undertake the journey of life to meet you, our God. Show us the star that will guide our path today so that we may give you the best of our human nature. Let us share the gift of faith with those around us. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

ENERO 7, DOMINGO

UNA ESTRELLA SIEMPRE GUÍA EL CAMINO

Mateo 2: 1-12

¿Dónde est oc el Rey de los judíos que ha nacido? Pues vimos salir su estrella y hemos venido a adorarlo.

Mateo 2: 2

Los sabios, al ver la estrella que anunciaba el nacimiento del Rey de los judios, se pusieron en marcha para encontrarlo y adorarlo.

Este acto de fe y búsqueda nos enseña que debemos estar atentos a las señales que Dios nos envia y estar dispuestos a emprender un viaje para encontrarnos con Él. Además, la actitud de los sabios al ofrecerle regalos al niño Jesús nos muestra la importancia de dar lo mejor de nosotros mismos en adoración a Dios. Debemos presentarle nuestros dones, talentos y recursos como una expresión de amor y gratitud hacia Él.

Pensemos y reflexionemos sobre nuestra disposición para buscar a Jesús, adorarlo con sinceridad y ofrecerle lo mejor de nosotros mismos. Estemos atentos a las señales que Dios nos envia porque siempre habrá una estrella que guie el camino a seguir.

 

Oración: Hoy queremos emprender el viaje de la vida, para encontrarte, Dios nuestro. Muéstranos la estrella que guiará nuestro andar de hoy para que podamos regalarte lo mejor de nuestra humanidad. Permite que podamos compartir el regalo de la fe con quienes nos rodean. En el nombre del niño Jesús, oramos. Amén.
