WE ARE SEED 

Mark 4: 26-34

It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seed on earth.

Mark 4:31 (NIV)

In this portion of the scriptures, the parables that Jesus uses to share his teachings about the Kingdom correspond to the vegetable order:

They allude to the fertile soil, the sower, and the seeds.

The seeds present an opportunity for new shoots to germinate, as an occasion for new plants to grow and develop. This happens because each seed, even the smallest, carries within in it a miniature plant, from which the new shoots will sprout, regenerating life, the flora, where new fruits, new seeds, will be born. 

There within the seed itself, sprouts the new plant. It is within it that the good that is about to be planted and grow, to bear, fruit, is formed and protected.

So it is with our lives and the Kingdom; it has to germinate from within, to grow outward.

Let us be seeds, let us treasure the Kingdom in our lives so that it may sprout, grow and expand around us so that all life may be full and good.

 

Prayer: Lord, help us not to forget that our lives are the seed of your Kingdom. Allow us to be seeds from which your Kingdom grows and manifests itself. Amen.

SOMOS SIMIENTE

Marcos 4: 26-34

Es como el grano de mostaza, que cuando se siembra en tierra, es la más pequeña de todas las semillas que hay en la tierra;

Marcos 4:31

En esta porción de las escrituras, las parábolas que usa Jesús para compartir sus enseñanzas sobre el Reino corresponden al orden vegetal:

Aluden a la tierra fértil, al sembrador, a las semillas.

Las semillas como oportunidad para que germinen nuevos brotes, como ocasión para que crezcan y se desarrollen nuevas plantas, lo cual acontece porque cada semilla, incluso la más ínfima, lleva dentro una planta en miniatura, de la cual brotarán los renuevos, que regeneran la vida, la flora, donde nacerán nuevos frutos, nuevas simiente.

Allí dentro de la propia semilla, brota la nueva planta, es en su interior donde se forma y se protege lo bueno que está por plantarse y crecer, por fructificar.

Así sucede con nuestras vidas y el Reino, tiene germinar desde adentro, para crecer hacia afuera.

Seamos semillas, atesoremos el Reino en nuestras vidas para pueda brotar, crecer y expandirse a nuestro alrededor para que toda la vida sea plena y buena.

 

Oración: Señor ayúdanos a no olvidar que nuestras vidas son germen de tu Reino. Permítenos ser semillas desde donde tu Reino crezca, se manifieste. Amén.
