THE FAMILY: A MOTIVE FOR CARE AND PRAYER

GENESIS 50:15-21

“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;

Through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. ”

Proverbs 24:3

Our Church dedicates this week in the yearly calendar to the Family.  The Family as an institution is trying to recuperate its respective role in our society.  The Bible presents us with several families that serve as sources of inspiration.  In the book of Genesis we meet Joseph’s family.  Jacob and Rachel’s son Joseph was forced by his brothers into exile in Egypt (35:24).  In spite of their atrocious behavior, we recall that Joseph forgave them and helped them, all in the name of their sacred family bonds.

Political, economic or social conflicts have separated many families, who suffer the pain of being separated from their loved ones.  Values such as forgiveness, reconciliation, and cooperation need to be at the forefront, more than ever, in our Cuban families.  Our communities of faith need to care and pray for all its families so that there is harmony and love in each home.  

Prayer:  Lord, we place before you today all the families who are suffering separation from some of their family members. Use us as instruments of your care and support for them always. Amen.

CUIDADO Y ORACIÓN

GÉNESIS 50:15-21

Nuestra Iglesia, dedica esta semana de su calendario a la Familia. La Familia como institución trata de recuperar en nuestra sociedad el papel que le corresponde. La Biblia nos presenta a varias familias que son motivos de inspiración. En el libro de Génesis encontramos a la familia de José, el hijo de Jacob y Raquel (35:24). Recordemos que José fue forzado por sus hermanos a exiliarse en Egipto, pero a pesar del mal comportamiento de estos, José les perdonó y les ayudó en nombre de los sagrados vínculos familiares. Los conflictos políticos, económicos o sociales han separado a muchas familias, que sufren con dolor el alejamiento de seres queridos. Valores como el perdón, la reconciliación, la cooperación deben estar presentes, más que nunca en la familia cubana. Las comunidades de fe necesitan cuidar y orar por las familias para que haya armonía y amor en cada hogar.

Oración: Señor, hoy ponemos delante de ti a todas las familias que sufren la separación de algunos de sus miembros. Úsanos como instrumentos tuyos para cuidarles y apoyarles siempre. Amén.
