GOD WILL NOT FORSAKE HIS OWN PEOPLE

PSALM 12

“Oh Lord, you will keep us safe and protect us from such people forever.”

Psalm 12:7

As God’s creatures, we are not abandoned to our own luck. There are times when we feel alone in the midst of overwhelming affliction.  Family and friends can abandon us. How often have we felt such solitude when we most needed the helping hand of a friend! God, however, has never been deaf or indifferent to our pain.

When we have felt most beaten and lost, a Word has comforted us: “I am here with you and I will keep you safe.” This is what Jacob was told at Bethel when he found himself without a roof over his head or without a family and facing an uncertain future. And this promise followed him all his life, turning into victory what could have been a failure.  This promise was repeated and is repeated to this day, to all those who seek Him and who love Him.  With such a precious promise, whom or what need we fear?

Prayer: Merciful Father, I give you thanks today for never forsaking me and for reassuring me that you are with me, today, tomorrow, and forever. Amen.

DIOS NO ABANDONARÁ A LOS SUYOS

SALMO 12

“Tú Jehová, los guardarás de esta generación

y los preservarás para siempre”

Salmo 12:7

Como criaturas no estamos abandonados a nuestra propia suerte. A veces sucede que nos sentimos solos en medio de las aflicciones que nos agobian. Familiares y amigos nos pueden abandonar ¡Cuántas veces hemos experimentado esta soledad cuando más hemos necesitado de una mano amiga que nos ayude! Más sin embargo, Dios nunca ha sido sordo e indiferente a nuestras penas.

Cuando más abatidos y desorientados nos hemos sentido, una Palabra nos ha confortado: “He aquí yo estoy contigo y te guardaré”. Esto dijo Jacob a Betel cuando éste se encontró sin techo y sin  familia frente a un futuro incierto. Y esta promesa le acompañó toda su vida convirtiendo en victoria lo que pudo ser una derrota. Esta promesa se repitió y se  repite hasta nuestros días a todos aquellos que le buscan y le aman. Teniendo tan preciosa promesa ¿a quién temeremos y a qué temeremos?

Oración: Padre Misericordioso, gracias te doy porque nunca me has faltado y porque tengo la seguridad que tú estás conmigo hoy, mañana y siempre. Amén.
