                                                BEFORE MAKING A DECISION

                                                           1 SAMUEL 3:1-12

                                  Now the Lord came and stood there, calling as before,

                                                             “Samuel! Samuel!”

                                 And Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening."  1 Samuel 3:10

Samuel lived during the times when people didn’t want to listen to God; but this doesn’t mean that God didn’t want to communicate with people. God always tries to speak with humans, but sometimes we harden our hearts to God’s voice. And that’s how it came to be that one night God presented himself to Samuel, and Samuel’s reply was, “Speak, your servant is listening.”

There are moments in life when one must make important decisions. Perhaps today is one of those days. You have to reply knowing that your future and that of your family is depending on it; you have to take a position, even though you’re uncertain. You’re agreeable to listening to the advice of others, but stop for an instant, and in the silence of your heart, say: “Speak Lord, your servant is listening.” Try to hear God’s voice in your heart. Ask him if the conviction on which you’ve based your decision is correct. Cry out for guidance; you’re not living your life alone.

Before the moment of his reply comes, know that Jesus has spoken to your heart.

Prayer:  Lord, we pray for those who have to make a difficult and momentous decision in their lives today. Guide them and give them the necessary strength to accept your perfect will. In your name we pray. Amen.

ANTES DE TOMAR UNA DECISIÓN.

1 SAMUEL 3:1-12

Entonces el Señor se detuvo junto a él, y lo llamó

como las otras veces: “¡Samuel, Samuel!”

Y Samuel respondió: “Habla, Señor, que tu siervo escucha.”

1 Samuel 3:10

Samuel vivió en días cuando las personas no querían escuchar a Dios, eso no quiere decir que Dios no quisiese comunicarse con las personas. Dios siempre trata de hablar con el ser humano, pero a veces endurecemos el corazón a la voz de Dios. Fue en esas circunstancias que Dios se presentó a Samuel una noche y la respuesta de Samuel fue: “Habla que tu siervo escucha”.

Hay momentos en la vida en que tú tienes que tomar decisiones importantes, tal vez hoy sea uno de esos días, tienes que dar una respuesta de la cual depende el futuro tuyo y de tu familia; tienes que tomar una posición, no sabes cuál es; estás dispuesto a escuchar los consejos de otras personas;  pero por un instante para y en el silencio de tu corazón di: “Habla Señor que tu siervo escucha”. Trata de escuchar la voz de Dios en tu corazón, pídele la convicción de que la decisión que vas a tomar es la correcta, clama por orientación, no vivas tu vida solo.

Antes de que llegue el momento de la respuesta, ten la seguridad de que Jesús habló a tu corazón.

Oración: Señor, te pedimos por aquellas personas que tienen que tomar una decisión difícil, trascendental para sus vidas en este día. Guíales y dales la fuerza necesaria para aceptar tu voluntad que es perfecta. En tu nombre te lo pedimos. Amén.
