HE IS ALIVE!

PHILIPPIANS 3:7-11

“I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.

Philippians 3:10

The story of Jesus’s resurrection can be found in all four gospels. Each one of the gospel writers relates the story according to his experience and narrative characteristics, revealing a truth to us that is the Great Truth that sustains the Christian faith:  the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He was resurrected from among the dead!  That is what the biblical writings tell us.  Without this affirmation, everything that happened up until then was meaningless.  If the Lord has not resurrected, the hours of the long journey announcing the Kingdom of God, healing, teaching new ways to live and to love, raising the downtrodden, signaling with dignity the only way that leads to the fullness of God and with God—all this becomes meaningless. If the Lord has not resurrected, the pain and suffering of Gethsemane were in vain; the nails in the flesh, the insults, the mockery, the betrayal and the death itself of Jesus, all cease to have any meaning.  If we cannot say, as those women said: “The Lord has risen from the dead!” our faith is in vain. No matter how weak the cross, the death and the grave of Jesus may appear to us, faith must pass beyond all of that, in order to be perfectly corroborated. Thus, even though we have fully received Salvation in Christ’s death, because it is through his death that we have been reconciled to God, it is only through his Resurrection that we are regenerated into a living hope.

Today is a good day to testify to the many wonders that the Lord has wrought in our lives. Don’t forego this great opportunity to tell the world that Christ is alive! 

Prayer: Lord, help us to acknowledge you in pain as well as in joy. Increase our faith. Amen.

FILIPENSES 3:7-11

“Por eso, lo único que deseo es conocer a Cristo; es decir,

sentir el poder de su resurrección ….”  

Filipenses 3: 10

El relato de la resurrección de Jesús lo encontramos en los cuatro evangelios. Cada uno de ellos según su experiencia y características narrativas, nos revelan una verdad que es la Gran Verdad que sustenta a la fe cristiana: La Resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

¡Resucitó de entre los muertos!, eso es lo que nos refieren los escritos bíblicos. Sin esta afirmación todo lo vivido hasta aquí deja de tener sentido. Si el Señor no ha resucitado, las horas de largo caminar anunciando el Reino de Dios, sanando, enseñando nuevas maneras de vivir y de amar, levantando a los abatidos, marcando con dignidad el único camino que conduce a la plenitud de Dios y con Dios, todo esto, deja de tener sentido. Si el Señor no ha resucitado, el dolor y la angustia del Getsemaní, fueron en balde; los clavos en la carne, los insultos, la burla, el olvido y la misma muerte de Jesús, dejan de tener sentido. Si no podemos decir como aquellas mujeres: “¡El Señor ha resucitado!”, vana es nuestra fe. Como quiera que en la cruz, la muerte y sepultura de Jesucristo nos parezcan flaquezas, es necesario que la fe pase más allá de todo esto, para ser perfectamente corroborada. Por lo que, aunque en la muerte de Cristo tenemos pleno cumplimiento de la Salvación, pues por ella somos reconciliados con Dios, no se dice que somos regenerados en una viva esperanza por la muerte, sino por la Resurrección.

Hoy es un buen día para testificar de las muchas maravillas que el Señor hace en nuestras viadas, no dejes perder esta gran oportunidad de decir al mundo que Cristo vive!

Oración: Señor ayúdanos a reconocerte en el dolor y en la alegría, auméntanos la fe. Amén.
