A SINGLE BODY IN CHRIST

 ROMANS 12: 1-5

‟He is the head of the body, the church”

   Colossians 1:18ª 

     How many parts does the human body have? We usually say three: head, trunk, and extremities. But we Cubans jokingly add “and a plastic bag.”

     If we closely inspect our bodies, we will realize how many different parts make it up, and at the same time how related they are to each other. It is almost like a giant puzzle. A simple pinch to any one part of the body is instantaneously felt all over.

     Imagine yourself seated on a church pew. Look around you in all directions. Is there someone who looks like you? You aren’t going to find anyone for the simple reason that we’re all different. But the most important thing is that, as with the human body, everyone has a role to play.

     Have you asked yourself yet which part you play in this body which is the local church? But even more important than knowing what your part is in this body would be to ask ourselves: Am I fulfilling my role within this body?

Prayer:  Father, help me to be part of the body in which you have put me. Amen.

UN SOLO CUERPO EN CRISTO

 ROMANOS 12:1-5

‟El es la cabeza del cuerpo, que es la iglesia”

   Colosenses 1:18ª

¿Cuántas partes tiene el cuerpo humano? Decimos que son tres: cabeza, tronco y extremidades. Últimamente los cubanos a tono de broma añadimos: “y jaba.”

Si miramos detenidamente nuestro cuerpo, nos daremos cuenta de cuantas partes tan diferentes lo integran; y a la vez tan relacionadas unas con otras. Tal parece que forma un gran rompecabezas. Un simple pinchazo en cualquier parte del cuerpo, se siente inmediatamente en todo el cuerpo.

Imagínate que estás en un banco de tu iglesia. Mira en todas direcciones. ¿Hay alguien parecido a ti? No lo vas a encontrar, por la simple razón de que todos somos diferentes. Pero lo más importante es que al igual que en el cuerpo humano, todos tenemos un papel que realizar.

¿Te has preguntado cuál es tu parte en ese cuerpo que es la iglesia local? Pero todavía más importante que conocer cuál es tu parte en el cuerpo, sería preguntarnos, ¿Estoy cumpliendo con la parte que me toca en este cuerpo?

Oración: Padre, ayúdame a integrarme al cuerpo en el cual tú me has puesto. Amén
