THE DIVINE FAITH OF CHILDREN

MARK 10:13-16

“I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”

Matthew 11:25

I know a girl named Sofía, who was raised in a Christian home, and even though this story happened some time ago, and Sofía was only 4 or 5 years old at the time, Sofia had the transparent and genuine faith of a child. She prayed for a cousin who was in the intensive care unit of a hospital.  In the face of her family’s gravity and anguish, she told them with great firmness and confidence: “Don’t worry about my cousin, because I’ve prayed for him and the Lord is going to heal him.”  And the Lord heard her prayer.

Jesus put a child in front of the disciples and said: “Anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Children can understand what the wisest people on earth would like to experience. It is very necessary to pray for boys and girls to grow up with that transforming faith that comes from the wisdom of heaven, and the tenderness of the Holy Spirit that transforms our prayers into great miracles.

I thank God for little Sofía’s example, which has helped me through many difficult moments!

Prayer: Thank you, God, for the faith of little girls and boys. Amen.  

LA FE DIVINA DE LA NIÑEZ

MARCOS 10: 13-16

“Te alabo,  Padre,  Señor del cielo y de la tierra, 

porque escondiste estas cosas de los sabios

y de los entendidos,  y las revelaste a los niños”

Mateo 11: 25

Conozco una niña llamada Sofía, criada en un hogar cristiano, y aunque ésta historia hace algún tiempo que ocurrió, en  ese momento ella contaba sólo con 4 o 5 años, Sofía tuvo la fe transparente e ingenua de los niños y las niñas. Ella oró por un primito que estaba en el hospital en terapia intensiva. Ante la gravedad y la angustia de su familia dijo con gran firmeza y confianza: “No se preocupen por mi primito que yo he orado y el Señor lo va a sanar”. Y el Señor oyó su oración.

Jesús puso delante de los discípulos a un niño y dijo: “Si ustedes no tienen la fe como este niño, no heredarán el Reino de los Cielos”.

Los niños pueden entender lo que sabios del mundo quisieran experimentar.  Es muy necesario interceder por los niños y las niñas para que crezcan con esa fe transformadora que viene de la sabiduría de lo alto,  y la ternura del Espíritu Santo que transforma las oraciones que hacemos en grandes milagros.

¡Gracias a Dios por el ejemplo de la pequeña Sofía, que muchas veces me ha ayudado en momentos difíciles!

Oración: Gracias  Dios, por la fe de las niñas y los niños. Amén.
