THE WINDOWS
1 CORINTHIANS: 13
“For now we see in a mirror dimly,
but then we will see face to face.”
1 Corinthians 13:12
A recently married couple moved to a very
peaceful neighborhood. On the first morning in the house, while drinking coffee
at the window, the woman noticed that a neighbor was hanging sheets on a
clothesline, and said to her husband, “What filthy sheets the neighbor is
hanging on the line. Certainly she must not have soap to wash them, or doesn’t
know how to do it.” The husband looked on without comment.
The following day the woman was surprised,
seeing the neighbor hanging out the same sheets, but immaculate and brilliantly
white, and said to her husband, “Look, it seems she’s learned to wash well, or
maybe she’s bought soap.” Her husband
replied, “No, today I got up early and cleaned the dirty glass on our window.”
Life is like that, everything depends on the
cleanness of the window through which we observe things. Before criticizing,
perhaps it would be better to check to see if we have cleansed our hearts,
allowing us to be able to see more distinctly.
Thereby, we would be able to clearly see the purity of others’
hearts. One can achieve all this only
when God’s love fills our lives.
Prayer: Clean today, Father, the window glass of our
hearts, to always see with the clarity and purity of your eyes. Amen.

LAS VENTANAS
1 CORINTIOS 13
“Ahora vemos
por espejo, oscuramente;
mas entonces veremos cara a cara...”
1 Corintios 13: 12
Una pareja de recién casados se mudó para un
barrio muy tranquilo. En la primera mañana en la casa, mientras tomaba café, la
mujer reparó a través de la ventana, que una vecina colgaba sabanas en la
tendedera y le dijo al marido: “Qué sábanas tan sucias cuelga la vecina en la
tendedera. Seguro que no tiene jabón para lavarlas, o no sabe lavar bien”. El
marido miró y quedó callado.
Al otro día, la mujer se sorprendió al ver a la
vecina tendiendo las mismas sábanas limpiecitas y blanquitas y le dijo al
marido: “Mira, parece que aprendió a
lavar bien, o ya se compró jabón” El marido le respondió: “No, hoy me levanté
más temprano y lavé los vidrios de nuestra ventana que estaban sucios.”
La vida es así: todo depende de la limpieza de la
ventana a través de la cual observamos los hechos.
Antes de criticar quizás sería conveniente
chequear si hemos limpiado el corazón
para poder ver más caro. Entonces podremos
ver claramente la limpieza del corazón de los demás.
Todo esto solo se puede lograr cuando tenemos
nuestras vidas llenas del amor de Dios.
Oración: Limpia hoy Padre,
los cristales de las ventanas de nuestro corazón, para ver siempre con
la claridad y limpieza de tus ojos. Amén.
