A NEW OPPORTUNITY

LAMENTATIONS 3:21-23

they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:23

Today is a day of new opportunities. And that is precisely what intrigues me about God: that God always gives me a new opportunity to start over. Even when we fail and do exactly the opposite of what God asks of us, God is always ready to pardon us and to give us another chance. No one goes through life wanting to fail God. We get up every morning with the fervent desire to please God, but we are feeble; it’s very hard for us to do good, and very easy to do wrong. It’s possible that today you woke up with the purest intention of pleasing God. You intended in your heart to do what is good, but soon you found yourself with something that you did not want to do – and you did it.

God knows you and, above all, observes your heart. God knows your weaknesses, your flaws, but even so, continues to love you. God wants to give us another chance, not because we are good, but because God knows that we long to do his will.

Today, God gives us that chance. But what position will you take? Let’s make this new opportunity worth the effort. Don’t ever feel unworthy of those chances, because if God gives them to you, it is because he sees in you a special ability to make good use of it.

Prayer: Lord, don’t allow our constant mistakes to disappoint you. Help me to make good use of every opportunity that you give me to amend my life.  Amen.

Nuevas son cada mañana, grande es tu fidelidad

Lamentaciones 3:23

Hoy es un día de nuevas oportunidades. Y eso es precisamente algo que me fascina de  Dios: que siempre me da una nueva oportunidad para comenzar. Aun cuando fallamos y hacemos  totalmente lo contrario a lo que Él nos pide,  siempre está dispuesto a perdonarnos y darnos una nueva oportunidad. Nadie va por la vida queriendo fallar a Dios. Nos levantamos cada mañana con el deseo ferviente de agradarle; pero somos débiles, se nos hace muy difícil  hacer lo bueno pero muy fácil hacer lo malo. Es posible que hoy te hayas levantado con la intención más pura de agradar a Dios, te propusiste en tu corazón tratar de hacer bien las cosas, pero de pronto te encontraste con algo que no querías hacer y lo hiciste. Dios te conoce, y más allá de todo, observa tu corazón. Él conoce tus debilidades, tus defectos. Pero aun así te sigue amando. Él quiere darnos una nueva oportunidad, no porque seamos buenos, sino porque sabe que anhelamos hacer su voluntad. Hoy nos da esa oportunidad. Pero ¿Qué actitud tomarás tú? Hagamos que esa nueva oportunidad valga la pena. Jamás te sientas indigno de esas oportunidades, porque si Él te las da, es porque ve en ti una capacidad especial para aprovecharla.

Oración: Señor, no permitas que mis constantes faltas te defrauden. Ayúdame a aprovechar cada oportunidad que tú me das para enmendar mi vida. Amén
