LEARNING FROM THE FIG TREE
MATTHEW 24: 32-35
This is because the Lord himself will come
down from heaven with the signal
of a shout by the head angel and the blast of a trumpet.
First, those who are dead in Christ will rise.

Thessalonians 4:16 CEB
Senior citizens
will remember these verses of Jose A. Buesa:
“You will pass through my life, without knowing that you passed.” And it is true that many times we have passed through different places without knowing that we passed, and the most worrisome thing, without knowing the meaning of our walk.
“You will pass through my life, without knowing that you passed.” And it is true that many times we have passed through different places without knowing that we passed, and the most worrisome thing, without knowing the meaning of our walk.
We remember the
curse of the fig tree: to not bear fruit; but now the teacher calls us to notice
the branches. When the green leaves come out in the spring, it is a
sign that summer is near. Our church is a confessional church, and
in every liturgy, we reserve time for the creed. But many times, I
say to myself: “Do we even know what we are confessing?” We should
tremble when we look at our lives and at what we are confessing. Are
they green branches that announce the hot summer?
At times, our
confession is limited to repeating a few words, without noticing what we are
saying and the responsibility they imply for our lives. This seems like we
are announcing a drought. It is time to return to the Word and to
what it is telling us, and to look back to see if our life is consistent with
what we believe. I hope that we can give visible signs with our
daily testimony, of the change that we believe comes with expressing faith in
Jesus Christ as Savior.
Prayer: Our God, help us this day to look for you, and to live
according to your will. Amen.

APRENDER DE
LA HIGUERA
MATEO 24:
32-35
