SEED

MARK 4:3-9

Other seed fell into good soil and brought forth grain,

growing up and increasing and yielding thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.

Mark 4:8

When I was a girl I had a neighbor, Tina. A devoted woman of great faith, she gathered a group of neighboring children in a house where she taught us the catechism and basic questions to prepare us for our first communion.

After that I continued attending Church until one day I turned away from it. A good deal of time passed until a neighbor, Carmita, who had continued to attend church since she was a girl, invited me to attend church gatherings and worship services.

I came to realize that the little seed that Tina had planted was not lost, but had germinated in me.

Sometimes we grow discouraged or doubt the fruit of our labors when we invite others to know Jesus Christ. We need to trust in God’s power to bless all that we do in his Name.

Prayer: Father, help us to sow with the confidence that the seed will fall on good ground and that you will give it growth. Amen.

LA SEMILLA

MARCOS 4:3-9

Pero otra parte cayó en buena tierra y dio buen fruto,

pues brotó y creció.

Marcos 4:8

Cuando era niña tenía una vecina, Tina.  Mujer devota y de mucha fe, que llevaba a un grupo de niños del vecindario a una casa donde se nos enseñaba el catecismo, cuestiones fundamentales para tomar la primera comunión.

Luego continué asistiendo a la Iglesia, hasta que en un momento determinado me aparté de ella. Pasó muchísimo tiempo, hasta que un día una vecina, Carmita, que desde niña asistía a la Iglesia, me invitó para que asistiera a las reuniones de su pastoral, y a los cultos.

Pude comprobar que la semillita que Tina sembró no se perdió, sino que germinó en mí.

En ocasiones nos desanimamos o dudamos del fruto de nuestros esfuerzos cuando invitamos a otras personas a conocer a Jesucristo. Debemos confiar en el poder de Dios para bendecir todo lo que hacemos en su Nombre.

Oración: Padre, ayúdanos a sembrar, con la confianza de que la semilla caerá en buena tierra y tú darás el crecimiento. Amén.
