TEAMWORK

JOHN 1: 35-48

The two disciples heard what he said, and they followed Jesus

Jesus did not perform his ministry alone. To begin, the first thing he did was form a team. In this group, men and later also women helped, served, and shared. 

At times in congregations we have people who believe they are super heroes or super heroines because they don’t share the workload with anyone, or they do not like being part of a team to confront the responsibilities. These are the people who burn out after a time and begin to do things poorly because they have run out of energy to do any more.

God is a team. Our understanding of the Trinity of the divinity shows us an intimate understanding of God, as part of a family. If Jesus began his ministry by calling the disciples to follow him, why is it so hard for us to do likewise?

Teamwork will help us not only to share the burdens of the work, but also to value and better understand other people and recognize their gifts. Let go of pride and arrogance, form your team, and life will be better for you and for those around you.

Prayer:  Lord, give me the wisdom to work together with other people, to share a better testimony of You. Amen.

TRABAJANDO EN EQUIPO

JUAN 1: 35-48

Le oyeron hablar los dos discípulos, y siguieron a Jesús

Jesús no realizó su ministerio en solitario. Para comenzar lo primero que hizo fue formar un equipo. En ese grupo, hombres y luego también mujeres, ayudaban, servían y compartían.

En ocasiones en las congregaciones tenemos personas que se creen superhéroes o superheroínas porque no comparten la carga de trabajo con nadie o no les gusta formar parte de un equipo para enfrentar las responsabilidades. Son las personas que después de un tiempo se desgastan y llegan a hacer las cosas no tan bien porque sus fuerzas ya no le alcanzan para más.

Dios es un equipo. Nuestra comprensión trinitaria de la divinidad nos acerca a una perspectiva familiar de Dios. Si Jesús comenzó su ministerio llamando a discípulos y discípulas para que le siguieran ¿por qué nos cuesta tanto trabajo hacerlo nosotros?

Trabajar en equipo nos ayudará no solo a compartir las cargas del trabajo, sino a valorar y comprender mejor a otras personas y a reconocer sus dones. No se deje llevar por el orgullo ni la arrogancia, forme su equipo, así la vida será mejor para usted y para los que le rodean.

Oración: Señor, dame la sabiduría para trabajar junto a otras personas, para así dar mejor testimonio de Ti. Amén.
