TELL MY SOUL: I AM YOUR SALVATION

PSALM 35

Do not take revenge, my dear friends,

but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written:

“It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

Romans 12:19 (NIV)

We are sometimes victims of injustices that hurt us and leave deep wounds, and we ask ourselves, what should we do? Thoughts of vengeance come to mind that disturb and distort us. But thanks to God, we have the recourse to prayer to tell God privately and sincerely what is happening to us, releasing all bitterness and rancor in our conversation with him. After that we feel an indescribable peace, which is a gift that only God can give to his sons and daughters.

Jesus said: If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat, if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; by doing that, you heap coals of fire on his head and you overcome evil with good. Let us keep taking steps to promote reconciliation and unity. Let us rid our hearts of illnesses such as rancor and anger. Let us trust solely in the power of God, who will do what is right, according to his will, and on his timetable.

Prayer: Beloved father, teach us to forgive as you do and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Amen.

SALMO 35

No os venguéis nosotros mismos, amados míos,

sino dejad lugar a la ira de Dios; porque escrito esta:

mía es la venganza, yo pagaré, dice el Señor.

Romanos 12:19

En ocasiones somos víctimas de injusticias que lastiman y hacen heridas profundas, y nos preguntamos: ¿Qué hacer? A nuestras mentes acuden pensamientos de venganza que nos atormentan y distorsionan. Pero gracias a Dios, contamos con el recurso de la oración, para contarle de forma privada y sincera lo que nos sucede, despojándonos de toda amargura y rencor durante nuestra conversación con Él. Al final sentiremos una paz indescriptible, que es un don, que solo Dios puede otorgarle a sus hijos e hijas.

Jesús dijo: Si tu enemigo tuviere hambre, dale de comer, si tuviere sed, dale de beber; pues haciendo esto, ascuas de fuego amontonarás sobre su cabeza, por lo tanto, vence con el bien el mal. Continuemos dando pasos a favor de la reconciliación y la unidad. Curemos nuestro corazón de enfermedades como el rencor y la ira. Depositemos toda nuestra confianza en el poder de Dios, el hará en su momento, lo justo, según su voluntad.

Oración: Padre amado, enséñanos a perdonar como tú lo haces y amar al prójimo como a nosotros mismos. Amén.
