WHERE IS YOUR TREASURE?

      MATTHEW  6:19-21

Make for yourselves wallets that don’t wear out—

a treasure in heaven that never wears out.

Luke 12:33b CEB

We have seen that the Kingdom of God becomes a reality on Earth when the will of God is done as completely as it is in heaven. 

In other words, Jesus was saying:  Put all of your efforts in obeying the will of God who is the fountain of justice here and now.

Accumulating material things to feed our selfishness and vanity merely wears us out.  The values of the kingdom are based on love.  We do our part with love, trusting always that God will do his part.

No one knows the day or the hour of the second coming of Christ.  How do we want him to find us?  Our life is full of loose ends.  Jesus was able to say to the Father, “I have finished the work that you told me to do.”  And Paul: “I have finished the race.” Can we say the same?  Knowledge and privilege always entail responsibility.  Listen always to the Lord:  Because where your treasure is, there your heart will be.

Prayer: Today, Lord, I want another opportunity to do things well. Help me to look for the riches of your love.  Amen.

DONDE ESTÉ TU TESORO

      MATEO  6:19-21

…Procúrense bolsas que no se hagan viejas,

riqueza sin fin en el cielo…

Lucas 12:33b

Ya hemos visto que el Reino de Dios se hace realidad en la Tierra cuando se hace la voluntad de Dios tan completamente como en el Cielo.

En otras palabras Jesús estaba diciendo: Pongan todo su esfuerzo en obedecer la voluntad de Dios que es fuente de justicia aquí y ahora.

Amontonar cosas materiales para alimentar el egoísmo y la vanidad, solo nos desgasta. Los valores del Reino tienen como base el amor. Hagamos lo que nos corresponde con amor, confiando siempre en que Dios hará su parte.

Nadie sabe el día ni la hora de la segunda venida de Cristo. ¿Cómo queremos que nos encuentre?

Nuestra vida está llena de cabos sueltos. Jesús pudo decirle al Padre: He acabado la obra que me diste que hiciera.  Y Pablo: He acabado la carrera ¿Podremos decir lo mismo? El conocimiento y el privilegio siempre conllevan responsabilidad. Escucha siempre al Señor: Porque donde esté tu tesoro allí estará tu corazón.

Oración: Hoy Señor quiero otra oportunidad para hacer las cosas bien. Ayúdame para que pueda buscar la riqueza de tu amor. Amén.
