STRENGTH IN THE LORD

PSALM 27:1-6

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1 (NRSV)

            Even though it seems that everything is piling up around you, Christ is here for you. Cheer up! He is your strength, a very present help right amid your trials. No matter what you confront in life, you have the Lord at your side. He is your light in darkness and your salvation. You have nothing to fear.

            Sometimes this world can be difficult, unjust, and a lonely place. Ever since the mythical story of the Fall of humanity in the Garden of Eden, God’s people have been recognizing their faults before their Creator. The Bible tells us that we will deal with trials in this life, but it also assures that we are more than conquerors through Christ who is in us. When you find yourself facing what seems like an insuperable tribulation, look up: Christ is there. He goes ahead of you, is at your side, and supports you in your time of need. You may lose everyone and everything in this life, but nothing can separate you from Christ’s love.

Prayer: Jesus, I cling to the hope that I have in you. You are my rock, my stronghold, my defense. I will not be afraid because you are always with me. Amen.

FUERZA EN EL SEÑOR

SALMO 27:1-6

El Señor es mi luz y mi salvación; ¿a quién temeré? El Señor es el baluarte de mi vida; ¿Quién podrá amedrentarme?

Salmo 27:1

Aun cuando parece que todo se está amontonando a tu alrededor, Cristo está aquí para ti. ¡Anímate! Él es tu fortaleza, un ayuda muy presente justo en medio de tu prueba. Independientemente de lo que venga contra ti en tu vida, tienes al Señor de tu lado. Él es tu luz en la oscuridad y tu salvación. No tienes nada que temer.

En algunos momentos este mundo puede ser duro, injusto y un lugar solitario. Desde el relato mítico de la caída del ser humano en el jardín del Edén, el pueblo de Dios ha ido reconociendo sus faltas ante su Creador. La Biblia nos asegura que nos enfrentaremos a pruebas en esta vida, pero también exclama que somos más que vencedores por medio de Cristo que está en nosotros. Cuando te encuentras frente a una tribulación que parece insuperable, alza la mirada: Cristo está ahí. Él va delante de ti, está a tu lado y te respalda en tu tiempo de necesidad. Puedes perder a todos y todo lo demás en esta vida, pero nada tiene el poder de apartarte del amor de Cristo. Nada.

Oración: Jesús, me aferro a la esperanza que tengo en ti. Tú eres mi roca, mi fortaleza, mi defensa. No temeré, porque tú estás siempre conmigo. Amén.
