IN THE MIDST OF QUIETUDE

MARK 1:32-39

Jesus rose and went to a deserted place

 where he could be alone in prayer.

Mark 1:35 CEB

The Lord Jesus had a vital relationship with God, whom he called Abba.  He dedicated time to daily prayer and meditation to carry out his ministry on earth.  This should tell us something.

Our harried lives often preclude having an hour of quietude so that our minds can be set in tune with the love of God and his will. Many believers want the blessings of a holy life, but they are not open to cultivating their spiritual lives.  To have power for service, we must be alone daily with Him.

Don’t let anything prevent you from having an intimate communion with Christ through prayer and meditation on the Word of God.  An infertile life is the product of too little time dedicated to prayer and communion with God.  We need to prepare ourselves as Jesus did during his whole ministry, with a praying life that is always placed in the hands of God. 

Prayer: We pray, beloved God, that each day we find an hour of quietude, where our hearts may be pacified by your love.  Amen.

MARCOS 1:32-39

El Señor Jesús se mantenía en una vital relación con Dios, al que llamaba Abba. Él dedicaba tiempo a la oración y meditación diarias, para llevar a cabo su ministerio en la tierra. Esto debería decirnos algo a nosotros.

Nuestras apresuradas vidas nos impiden con frecuencia tener una hora de quietud en la que nuestras mentes puedan ser puestas en sintonía con el amor de Dios y su voluntad. Muchos creyentes quieren las bendiciones de una vida santa, pero no están dispuestos a cultivar su vida espiritual. Para tener poder para el servicio, tenemos que estar a solas a diario con Él.

No permitas que nada te impida tener una entrañable comunión con Cristo por medio de la oración y de la meditación de la Palabra de Dios. Una vida infértil es producto del escaso tiempo dedicado a la oración y la comunión con Dios. Necesitamos prepararnos como Jesús lo hizo durante todo su ministerio, con una vida orante y siempre puesto en las manos de Dios.

Oración: Oramos Dios amado, por que cada día encontremos una hora de quietud, en la que nuestros corazones sean apaciguados por tu amor. Amén.
