RECONCILIATION

II CORINTHIANS 5:17-19

For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son,

much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life.

Romans 5:10

My mechanic tells me that the newest thing is the best thing going. There are people who always worry about having what is new, in technology, in fashion, etc. I ask myself if it wouldn’t be great to have a new life?

Paul invites us to live a new life, to cast aside the old and begin a new way of living. All of that is possible if we experience that Christ has set our present life in accordance with God. But this in turn is a challenge because now we have the ministry of reconciliation which means beginning to restore that which is disjointed.

Ask yourself how many things are disjointed in our families, in our Churches, in our country, in our environment. Do you feel called to carry out your ministry in one of these areas? If God has reconciled us in Christ, it is not so that we can be content with sitting in the pews of the Church. May this Advent be a propitious time to promote the ministry of reconciliation in our midst!

Prayer: Father, there are so many things waiting to be reconciled! Help me to fulfill my ministry. Amen.

LA RECONCILIACIÓN

II CORINTIOS 5:17-19

Porque, si siendo enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios

por la muerte de su hijo, mucho más, estando reconciliados,

seremos salvos por su vida.

Romanos 5:10

El mecánico me dice que lo nuevo es la mejor marca que hay. Hay quienes se preocupan por tener siempre lo nuevo: en la tecnología, en la moda, etc. ¿Me pregunto no sería bueno tener una vida nueva?

Pablo nos invita a vivir una nueva vida, a echar a un lado todo lo viejo y comenzar una nueva forma de vivir. Todo esto es posible si experimentamos que Cristo ha puesto nuestra vida actual de acuerdo con Dios. Pero esto a su vez se convierte en un reto, porque ahora tenemos el ministerio de la reconciliación; esto es comenzar a restaurar lo que está desunido.

Te has preguntado cuántas cosas hay desunidas en nuestras familias, en nuestras Iglesias, en nuestro país, ¿en nuestro medio ambiente? ¿Te sientes llamado a realizar tu ministerio en alguno de estos ámbitos? Si Dios nos ha reconciliado en Cristo, no es para que nos contentemos con sentarnos en los bancos de la Iglesia.

¡Qué este adviento sea un tiempo propicio para impulsar el ministerio de la reconciliación en medio nuestro!

Oración: Padre, ¡Cuántas cosas hay esperando para reconciliarse! Ayúdame a cumplir mi ministerio. Amén.
