MESSENGERS OF GOD’S LOVE

JOHN 3:16-21

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son

that whoever believes in him shall not perish

but have eternal life.

John 3:16 (NIV)

We speak so much about love every day. But the day’s news is filled with lack of love: physical violence, wars, military occupations, displaced persons, family arguments and animosity, etc. God had his son born in our midst to fill our hearts with that love that brings reconciliation, peace and happiness for all his creation. But God counts on us. We are entrusted with showing the face, hands, and voice of Christ to fill the earth with this overflowing, creating love that gives of itself, inspires, helps, stimulates, and awakens.

I invite you to meditate on today’s text. What a challenge to make positive contributions! Because serving is loving, and loving is serving. The church’s true mission is to bring to every corner of the world the message of the Nativity and Resurrection, a message that speaks to us of God’s infinite mercy. Let us be God’s helpers, showering on others our love; so that doubts, fears, and selfishness will miraculously disappear. Put your life at the service of others.

Prayer: Father, enable us to share your light, so that our lives are always serving others. Amen.

MENSAJEROS DEL AMOR DE DIOS

JUAN 3:16-21

Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado

a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree

no se pierda, sino que tenga vida eterna.

¡Cuánto hablamos del amor diariamente! Sin embargo las noticias cotidianas hablan más bien de desamor: violencia física, guerras, ocupaciones militares, desplazados, discusiones y rencores familiares, etc. Dios nos hizo nacer a su Hijo en medio nuestro para llenar los corazones de ese amor que trae reconciliación, paz y felicidad para toda su creación. Pero Dios cuenta con nosotros. Somos los encargados de mostrar el rostro, las manos y la voz de Cristo para llenar la tierra de ese amor rebosante, creador, que se entrega, que anima, que ayuda, que estimula y despierta.

Te invito  a meditar en el texto de hoy. ¡Qué desafío para llevar a cabo contribuciones positivas! Porque servir es amar, y amar es servir. La verdadera misión de la Iglesia es llevar a cada rincón del mundo el mensaje de la navidad y la resurrección, un mensaje que nos habla de la gracia  infinita de Dios. Seamos colaboradores de Dios, derramando sobre los demás nuestro amor; y así las dudas, egoísmo y temores desaparecerán de una manera milagrosa en nosotros. Pon tu vida al servicio del amor a los demás.

Oración: Padre, permite que podamos compartir tu luz, que nuestras vidas siempre estén al servicio de los demás. Amén.
