WAVE YOUR HANDKERCHIEFS
Anniversary of the UNMPRC
MATTHEW 25: 35-46

Then he will answer them,
‘Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’

Matthew 25: 45 (NRSV)

In today’s world, poverty, death, and discrimination almost always wear the face of a woman.  These gray women who say nothing, are foreigners in their own land, those in the neighborhood at whom no one looks, and even more than that, they are those who have no voice, or are invisible to their family. They seem very active in the church, but they watch the clock in fear of being censured by their husbands for some delay, or those whose only chance of feeling real is when they take part in the activities of the church community.

Those are the women that we must pick up and give food and drink, have them participate in our projects, not only to make handkerchiefs and pot holders, but also to teach them to have their own voice, to not only be the servants of their children and husbands, but to help them participate in the here and now of life, because there is still time today.

Prayer: Lord, we ask you to teach us to color the handkerchiefs of these women so brightly that we may see them even from afar and not fall into the sin of omission lest whatever we do or fail to do for these women we also are doing to you. Amen.

MATEO 25: 35-46
