SHOW THAT YOU LOVE ME

            Song of Songs is the book of the Bible where the poetry of love in a couple is best felt and how much communication is necessary in a loving relationship. Painters, poets, writers have tried to capture the feeling of love throughout the ages and there is always something to say, to paint, to see, to live.

            Nevertheless, many couples experience poor communication, the lack of expression of one to the other about desires, motivations, hopes, or simply not saying what one means to the other and vice versa.

            We constantly hear phrases like, “Show me that you love me,” “Do you love me?” or “Tell me that you love me.” All these at root show the need that we humans have for knowing by words or small acts what we are to another. It’s not enough to supply the material needs at home. You need to feel in your skin, in your ears, in your eyes and in your whole body that you are loved and that you love with the same intensity.

Prayer:  Lord, you who love because you are love in yourself, teach me to demonstrate every day to my life partner how much I love him/her. Amen.

              Cantar de los Cantares es el libro de la Biblia donde mejor se palpa la poesía del amor en una pareja y cuánto es necesaria la comunicación en una relación amorosa.

              Pintores, poetas, escritores han tratado de plasmar a través de las diferentes épocas el sentimiento del amor y siempre hay algo que decir, que pintar, que ver, que vivir.

              Sin embargo,  muchas parejas viven la incomunicación, la falta de expresión el uno al otro de deseos, motivaciones, aspiraciones o simplemente el no decir lo que uno significa para el otro y viceversa.

              Constantemente oímos frases como: - “Demuestra que me quieres, -¿Me quieres?” o  -“Dime que me quieres”. Todas, en su raíz, muestran la necesidad que tenemos los seres humanos de saber, a través de la palabra o pequeños actos, lo que somos para alguien. No basta con suplir lo material en el hogar. Te es necesario sentir en la piel, en los oídos, en los ojos y en todo el cuerpo  que te aman y con la misma intensidad amar.

Oración: Señor, tú que eres amante del amor porque eres amor en ti mismo, enséñanos a demostrar cada día al compañero/a de mi vida cuánto le amo. Amén.
