LET’S PRAY AT ALL TIMES
1 Thessalonians
5:17

. the prayer of the upright is his delight
Proverbs 15:8 (NRSV)
God does
not take into account the arithmetic of our prayers, how many they are; nor the
rhetoric of our prayers, how eloquent they are, how long they are; nor the music
of our prayers, how sweet our voice may be; nor the logic of our prayers, how
argumentative they are; nor the method of our prayers, how neat they are. What
counts before God is the devotion of the Spirit.
There is
nothing that makes us love a person more than to pray for them.
When you
pray sincerely for another, you place your soul in position to accopmplish a
good and kind thing for that person.
Get down on
your knees every day in solemn and purposeful execution of this devotion. Pray
for others in such a way, to such an extent, importunity and fervor that you do
for yourself or yours, and you will see how evil passions die and the heart
makes you expansive and generous.
Prayer: Lord, teach us to pray. Amen.

La oración
de los rectos es su gozo
Proverbios
15:8
Dios no tiene en cuenta la
aritmética de nuestras oraciones, cuántas son; ni la retórica de nuestras oraciones,
cuán elocuentes son, qué largo tienen; ni la música de nuestras oraciones, cuán
dulce sea nuestra voz; ni la lógica de nuestras oraciones, cuán argumentativas
sean; ni el método de nuestras oraciones, cuán ordenadas sean. Lo que vale
delante de Él es la devoción de Espíritu.
Nada hay que nos haga amar más a
una persona que orar por ella.
Cuando tú oras sinceramente por el
otro, pones el alma en condiciones de realizar cualquier cosa que sea buena y
amable para con aquella persona.
Tírate de rodillas
diariamente en solemne y premeditada
ejecución de esta devoción. Ora por otros en tal forma, con tanta extensión,
importunidad y fervor, como lo haces por ti o los tuyos; y veráás cómo mueren
las malas pasiones y el corazón se te torna grande y generoso.
Oración: Señor, enséñanos a orar. Amén.
