WITH THE FIRE OF THE SPIRIT

Mark 1:4-11

One more powerful than me is coming… (NIV)

Mark 1:7b

At times, when we speak of God, what we’re doing is speaking of ourselves, of the good we’re doing; and it’s not bad that on speaking of God’s love that we speak about the love toward others. But on occasion we forget to speak of God himself. Other times what we do is preach about the church. To invite others to church isn’t bad. However, we have to recognize that at times the true reason of our announcement is obscured. We forget to proclaim to that person that we’ve been baptized with the fire of the Spirit.

John the Baptist preached the necessity of repentance that would bring God’s forgiveness of sins. This was a familiar subject for the prophets of Israel. John recognized, “I am a messenger, while he who is coming is the Lord, one more powerful than me.”

Jesus is the Lord. That was the church’s confession of faith since its beginnings. Sustain it with full consciousness of what it means.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you are the center of my preaching, may I be able to speak to others about the marvelousness of your love. May I, on announcing your Gospel, with all it implies, not forget to preach to you. Amen.

Con el fuego del Espíritu

Marcos 1:4-11

Viene uno más poderoso que yo...

Marcos 1:7b
