APPROVING THE BEST

Philippians  1:7-11

To help you to determine what really matters, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless.

            In life we are presented with  many occasions when we must approve or disapprove of something.

            Sometimes this decision is a little difficult for us because  we cannot draw a line between what deserves our approval or disapproval. There is a principle that guarantees us satisfaction if we are guided by it when making decisions. That principle is this: we must approve of the good and disapprove of the bad. Everything that pleases and glorifies God is good. What does not please and glorify him is bad.

            In his letters, Paul directed his exhortations towards the good. He spoke about love, sincerity, and being blameless for the day of Christ. Everything that contributes to unity and good, witness as Christians to the good.  And this lifestyle is also in keeping with the vocation to which God called us through the Gospel.

            We must always support the good and the best. Not give any encouragement, much less support to the bad.

 

Prayer: Lord, I recognize that you saved me to be holy and to live without stain. Help me to live like this. Amen.

APROBANDO LO MEJOR

Filipenses 1:7-11

Para que aprobéis lo mejor, a fin de que seáis sinceros e irreprensibles para el día de Cristo

Filipenses 1:10

            En la vida se nos presentan muchísimas ocasiones y oportunidades en las que tenemos que aprobar o desaprobar alguna cosa.

            A veces esta decisión se nos hace un poco difícil, porque no se puede trazar una línea  entre lo que merece nuestra aprobación o nuestra desaprobación. Hay un principio que nos garantiza satisfacción  si nos guiamos por él al tomar decisiones. Ese principio es el siguiente: debemos aprobar lo bueno y desaprobar lo malo. Todo lo que agrada y glorifica a Dios es bueno, lo que no le agrade y glorifique, no es bueno.

            Pablo siempre en sus cartas encaminó las exhortaciones hacia lo bueno. Habló acerca del amor, de la sinceridad y de ser irreprensibles para el día de Cristo. Todo lo que contribuye a la unidad y al bue  testimonio como cristianos está en el área de lo bueno. Y este estilo de vida también está en consonancia con la vocación  a la que Dios nos llamó por el evangelio.

            Siempre debemos apoyar lo bueno, lo mejor, y no dar nada de aliento, mucho menos respaldo, a lo malo.

 

Oración: Señor, reconozco que me salvaste para ser santo y vivir sin mancha. Ayúdame a vivir así. Amén.
