FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS OF JESUS

Matthew 5:1-12

Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God.  (NIV)

Matthew 5:8

            When I was reading the text, I remembered that some time ago a brother asked me, “What happens if we repent for the errors we’ve committed and then continue sinning? Is it that our hearts are so stained by sin?”

            Time and time again, our human nature makes us err. The challenge is to recognize them and work to not fall back into them. 

            If, when we sin, we feel pain, it’s a sign that we’re becoming conscious of the magnitude of our actions and that we’re repenting from the heart before God.

            We can further clean our hearts and fill them with light and the Spirit of God. We must leave every trace of vanity, rancor, pride, and hypocrisy behind, and allow only love to overcome. This is hard, but nothing is impossible for God. 

 

Prayer: Good and loving Father, cleanse our hearts so that sin may be something of the past and we may come to be true citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen.

FIELES SEGUIDORES DE JESUS

Mateo 5:1-12

Bienaventurados los de limpio corazón, porque ellos verán a Dios.

Mateo 5:8

            Cuando leía el texto, recordaba que hace algún tiempo un hermano me preguntaba: Si nos arrepentimos de nuestros errores cometidos y seguimos pecando, ¿qué sucede? ¿Será que nuestros corazones están tan manchados de pecado?

            Nuestra naturaleza humana nos hace una y otra vez cometer errores. El reto consiste en reconocerlos y trabajar para no volver a reincidir en ellos.

            Si cuando pecamos sentimos dolor, es señal de que estamos concientizándonos de la magnitud de nuestras acciones y que estamos arrepintiéndonos ante Dios de corazón.

            Podemos limpiar más nuestros corazones y llenarlos de luz y del espíritu de Dios. Debemos dejar atrás toda huella de vanidad, rencor, orgullo, hipocresía, y dejar que solo el amor nos inunde. Esto es difícil pero nada es imposible para Dios.

 

Oración: Padre bueno y amoroso, limpia nuestros corazones para que el pecado sea parte del pasado y podamos llegar a ser verdaderos ciudadanos del Reino de los cielos. Amén.
