Anniversary of Christ Church (Matanzas)

IN ONE SPIRIT

Philippians 1:27-30

Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel,

A reunion is the gathering together of various individuals in the same place. But union or unity has more to do with equality of purpose and closeness of will. At the church with its regular hours of worship or bible study the members of the local church must meet together, but whether physically together or apart we must always remain united in the same spirit.

Partisan divisions within a congregation are not God’s work. There are no valid reasons for the existence of parties in the Lord’s Church. There are many reasons for us to remain united in the same spirit. It is not that we must all think the same way, but even when we have different opinions on various issues, the unity of the spirit must be preserved, and the the bonds of Christian friendship must not be broken.

The Evil One tries to divide us; the Holy Spirit brings us close so that we may be united.

 

Prayer: Lord, today we ask that you help us so that as your people we may remain united in spirit and purpose. Amen.

Aniversario de la Iglesia “El Cristo” (Matanzas)

EN UN MISMO ESPÍRITU

Filipenses 1:27-30

Solamente que os comportéis como es digno del evangelio de Cristo, para que o sea que vaya a veros, o que esté ausente, oiga de vosotros que estáis firmes en un mismo espíritu, combatiendo unánimes  por la fe del evangelio.

Reunión es la concurrencia de varios individuos en un mismo sitio. Pero unión o unidad tiene que ver más con igualdad de propósito y acercamiento de voluntad. En el templo y a sus horas regulares de los cultos o estudios bíblicos, los miembros de la iglesia local debemos reunirnos; pero sea juntos o separados físicamente hablando, siempre debemos permanecer unidos en un mismo espíritu.

Las divisiones partidistas dentro de una congregación no son obra de Dios. No hay razón válida para que existan partidos en la Iglesia del Señor. Hay muchas razones para que permanezcamos unidos en un mismo espíritu. No es que  todos pensemos siempre igual, sino que aun cuando sobre asuntos diversos tengamos diferentes opiniones, la unidad en el espíritu debe conservarse y los vínculos de la amistad cristiana no deben romperse.

El maligno trata de dividirnos, el Espíritu Santo nos acerca para que estemos unidos.

Oración: Señor, te pedimos hoy que nos ayudes para que como pueblo tuyo sigamos unidos en espíritu y propósito. Amén.
