THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 14

God so loved the world.

John 3: 13-17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  (NIV)

A children’s hymn prays, “The love of God is marvelous.”

Breathe and feel the freshness we take in at this moment, the sun’s clarity or the silvery penumbra of the night, the voice of those who accompany us, or the silence of those who carry us in their heart. . . all these are guarantees of that wonder that is God’s love, including when it seems he has abandoned us, the tides are leveled and it is revealed to us offering peace in the midst of the storm. 

Jesus is the love of God personified, the Master who spoke to us with facts of life. How infinite is God’s  care. Not only does Jesus save us through the cross, but he also gives us the key to salvation through the ethics that accompanied him throughout his journey. Jesus did not die to remain trapped in the agony of our sins, but he taught us how God wants us to act, to relate, to take care of ourselves. With his death, Jesus showed us the great truth that, indeed, God loves us as his daughters and sons, for all time.

 

Prayer: Loving God, may we always love others as you have loved us. Amen.

Tanto amó Dios al mundo

Juan 3: 13-17

Porque Dios no mandó su hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo, sino para que el mundo se salve por él.

Reza un himno infantil que ¨El amor de Dios es maravilloso.

Respirar y sentir el fresco que inhalamos en este momento, la claridad del sol o la penumbra plateada de la noche, la voz de quienes nos acompañan, o el silencio de quienes llevamos en el corazón... todas son garantias de esa maravilla que es el amor de Dios. Incluso cuando parece que nos abandona, se nivelan las mareas y se nos revela ofreciendo paz en medio de la tormenta.

Jesús es el amor de Dios personificado, el Maestro que nos contó con hechos de vida cuán infinito es el cuidado de Dios. No solo Jesús nos salva a través de la cruz, sino que también nos da la llave de la salvación a través de la ética que le acompañó en todo su caminar. Jesús no murió para quedarse clavado en la agonia de nuestros pecados, sino que nos enseñó cómo quiere Dios que actuemos, que nos relacionemos, que nos cuidemos. Jesús nos mostró con su muerte, la gran verdad de que, ciertamente, Dios nos ama como sus hijas e hijos, por todos los siglos.

 

Oración: Dios amoroso, que siempre podamos amar a otras y otros, asi como tú nos has amado. Amén.
