OUR LAMPS ARE LIT

Matthew 25: 1-13

Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

Matthew 25:13 (NRSV)

A beautiful passage, which among others, gives us the Gospel of Matthew.

We can compare the ten bridesmaids, their lamps and oil with the church, the whole church, those of us who call ourselves Christians, and go to a church.

The light of these lamps is no more than the presence of Jesus Christ in the church in a personal manner. If our relationship is not constant, we will outnumber those who go to church.

If we seek God and his Spirit is in us, we will always have light.

When the Lord comes he will find our lamps lit, moreover, if fatigue, anxiety or worries come upon us we will have strength enough to keep moving and to not faint.

The Holy Spirit gives the source of light, and it is not far off. Let’s seek only his light.

 

Prayer: Lord Jesus, always come with your light. Holy Spirit, guide us. Amen.

NUESTRAS LUCES ENCENDIDAS

Mateo 25: 1-13

Velad, pues, porque no sabéis el dia ni la hora en que el  Hijo del hombre ha de venir.

Mateo 25:13

Hermoso pasaje, que entre varios, nos  pone  el Evangelio  de Mateo.

Las diez virgenes, sus lámparas y aceites podemos compararlas con la iglesia, toda la iglesia, aquellos que nos decimos cristianos, y vamos a un templo.

La luz de estas lámparas no es más que la presencia de Jesucristo en la iglesia, pero de una manera personal. Si nuestra relación no es constante, seremos un número más de los que acuden al templo.

Si buscamos a Dios y su espiritu está en nosotros, siempre tendremos luz.

Cuando venga el Señor, encontrará nuestras luces encendidas, mientras, si llega la fatiga, la angustia o las preocupaciones, tendremos fuerzas suficientes para seguir adelante, para no desmayar.

La fuente de luz la da el Espiritu Santo, y no está lejos, solo busquemos su luz.

 

Oración: Señor Jesús, ven siempre con tu luz. Espiritu Santo guianos. Amén.
