WHAT JESUS OFFERS US

Luke 4: 31:38

They were astounded at his teaching, because he spoke with authority.

Imagine two neighbors from Nazareth talking about what their husbands told them when they arrived from the synagogue; They said, “A man who came to the synagogue every day, suddenly yelled at Jesus the carpenter, ‘Leave us. What do you have to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?’” “You are the Holy One of God,” said the man in the synagogue.

They were all frightened because they thought he was demonic. But the carpenter rebuked him, and he seemed to be cured or the demon left him, because he became quiet. Everyone in Nazareth was amazed.

We are often questioned as to why there are disreputable people in the church and we let them stay. Who can deny that it is precisely these people who are most in need of God? The correct response: the church’s doors are open to everyone. Perhaps it seems a reproach to some people who have spent many years in the church and have impeccable conduct, but they lack both the shining faces and the faith of the early Christians.

Our faith must be nourished and renewed every day lest we fail. The commonest demons of our times are egotism, greed, complacency, disdain and judgment of those around us.

These demons can be in any believer, problems and insecurities can make us fall. Let us seek God while he may be found.

 

Prayer: Lord, Holy Spirit, give us faith to withstand the trial and our own demons. Help us to not judge but to be a font of love and service for everyone. Amen.

LO QUE JESUS NOS OFRECE

Lucas 4: 31:38

Se admiraban de su doctrina porque su palabra era con autoridad.

Lucas 4:32

Imaginamos a dos vecinas de Nazaret hablando de lo que contaron sus esposos al llegar de la sinagoga; decian: Un hombre que cada dia venia a la sinagoga, de pronto le gritó a Jesús el carpintero: Déjanos ¿Qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús de Nazaret?

Eres el Santo de Dios. Todos se asustaron porque pensaron que tenia demonios. Pero el carpintero lo reprendió con mucha autoridad y parece que se curó o el demonio se fue, porque se quedo tranquilo. Todos en Nazaret están admirados. Muchas veces nos cuestionan el porqué en la iglesia hay personas de dudosa reputación y los dejamos estar. ¿quién puede negar que precisamente esas personas sean las que más necesitan de Dios? Respuesta exacta: las puertas de la iglesia se abren para todos. Quizás sea reprochable para algunos de muchos años en la iglesia, de conducta intachable, pero sin el brillo de la caras de los primeros cristianos, personas religiosas, pero sin fe.

Nuestra fe debe nutrirse y renovarse cada dia, para que no fallemos. Los demonios más comunes en estos tiempos son egoismo, avaricia, indulgencia, desamor y el de juzgar a los demás.

Ellos pueden estar en cualquier creyente, los problemas e inseguridades pueden hacernos caer. Busquemos a Dios mientras pueda ser hallado.

 

Oración: Señor, Espiritu Divino, danos fe para resistir la prueba y a nuestros propios demonios. Ayúdanos a no juzgar sino a ser fuente de amor y servicio para todos. Amén.
